It doesn't make sense to me. If you want to wear a sweater or sweat shirt you are cold. Why wouldn't you want a full sleeve? If I'm cold I want a full sleeve Robin

I own 2 lightweight zippered hoodies that I wear a lot. Whenever I'm wearing sleeveless tops, I throw on these hoodies in a restaurant or anywhere air-conditioned. Long sleeves is overkill, short sleeves is perfect. Also, the hood comes in handy in rainy weather.

I don't care for it, but some people wear the short sleeved jackets over long sleeves also.

I have ""sweaters"" with short or 3/4 length sleeves ...

1. They are over -sized layering pieces meant to be worn like a wrap or ruana. OR

2. Part of a two-piece set - a shorter sleeve sweater worn over a matching or coordinating lighter weight shirt.

I was just looking a a sneak preview of the Fall 2014 Vogue Knitting ... and counted seven sweaters with either short of 3/4 length sleeves.

Don't know about sweatshirts ... don't wear them.

I don't like 3/4 sleeve sweatshirts or sweaters either. I think they look matronly on me. I like a nice long sleeve I can pull down to my knuckles or push up my forearm. I noticed a lot of designer sweatshirts I've seen lately have the slit for the thumb. Love these too.

I love short sleeved sweatshirts. I don't get my sleeves wet when I am doing dishes, washing the floors, or doing the laundry etc. I bought 3 of the short sleeved sweatshirts from the QVC outlet store for $5 each & I love them. I live in the Midwest where it does get very cold too.

I live in a warm climate and really don't want or need heavy sweaters or sweatshirts. Most tops with long sleeves end up shoved up to 3/4 length.

I'd love a lightweight, short sleeved sweatshirt! I own 3 3/4 length sleeved ones. They are very lightweight & I wear them in the summer. My sweatshirts are the "new" kind, styled differently. Not the heavy sports kind with fuzzy insides like we wore decades ago. IMO the new ones are really just casual tops.

I think the zip front hoodie I got for fall might have 3/4 length sleeves.

I don't only wear sweaters or sweatshirts because I'm cold. I wear them for fashion. Personally I only buy cotton sweaters and I have all sleeve lengths. I have short kimono sleeve open work sweater that is meant to be worn over something...a tank in warmer weather, a long sleeve shirt or tee when it's cooler. A 3/4 sleeve cotton cardigan can be worn pretty much all year. To me the 3/4 sleeve is practical...don't have to keep pushing them up every time I'm working in the kitchen or washing my hands and bonus, my bracelets show.

I have short arms, so most long sleeves hit me just about the middle of may hand. Also, I hate to have to push up a sleeve to wash my hands, or rinse a dish. I also like them because the other term for them is "bracelet length", so if I'm wearing a bracelet, it will show up.

Oops, just read annakate's post and I'm repeating what she said.

Plus, if it's really cold, I do have several long sleeved items which do fit me properly, or that I've hemmed to fit my arms properly. But, generally it's not so cold that the couple of inches that aren't covered really matter.

I'm short so I like them. I only like long sleeves when it's really, really cold (winter). I still push those up half the time too. I don't like sleeves that hang over my hands.

I prefer 3/4 sleeves, especially since I push the sleeves up anyway. Besides, long sleeves makes one look matronly......it does on me anyway.

I prefer 3/4 sleeve in a shirt, but I don't get it in a sweater or sweatshirt. If I'm wearing one of them I'm cold and would want sleeves.

Agree! I live in a warmer climate - warm year round - but the office can get chilly.

Most 3/4 sleeve tops on QVC flare out which looks very matronly and defeats the use of pushing up for convenience. If the sleeves hugged the arm more it would be flattering and less matronly looking.

I completely agree with the OP. I wear sweatshirts and sweaters when I'm chilly and I want long sleeves. You can always push up long sleeves, but with shot or 3/4 you have no choice. A long sleeve can do everything a 3/4 sleeve can do by pushing it up. Much more versatile.

I only buy 3/4 sleeve for work because I am on the computer all day. I find that the long sleeve gets in the way when I am typing all day. If I have on long sleeves after a few hours I find myself pushing them out of the way so my wrist don't have the added pressure of the sleeve and my computer keyboard pad. So it is just easier for me to get the shorter sleeve for my work clothes. Otherwise I would prefer long or short sleeves for everything other than work.

I don't wear clothes JUST because I'm cold....lol. I actually like to look good in my clothing and I like comfort. I almost always push up the sleeves on my sweaters because I'm short and I'm not small, if I'm covered from head to toe; I look short, squat and boxy. So, I open my collars, I push up the sleeves. I also like a feminine look and I have to show off my jewelry.

That's true for D&Co and Quacker Factory certainly not for many of the other lines. Those big wide floppy three quarters sleeves are pet peeve of mine. I never buy three quarter sleeves from them.
