Do people layer their clothing in the summer?

I own several Logo tops and yoga pants and I like the TSV top, but I don't understand the layering. Unless you are 5'8" and a size 6, the layering would look silly and bulky. Also, why would anyone layer clothing when it's 90 degrees outside? I don't get it!

I live in a hot & humid climate and I layer all year. Not like Logo though.

I am wearing a lot of tank tops under lightweight button down blouses this summer. It is not a bulky look.

I have some sheer summer tops that I wear over Skinny Tees (the tanks or camis).

It will be 103 degrees here tomorrow. No way will I be layering. Shorts and a tank top will be my attire of choice.

Other than carrying a lightweight cardigan or linen blazer with me for air conditioned trains, office & restaurants, she is crazy if she thinks anyone is even remotely interested in wearing layers in the summer.

The only time I layer is to keep warm in winter. I think the Logo by Lori Goldstein clothes look ridiculous on anyone other than the skinny models and now it might look cute on the kids. Otherwise, a middle age woman of any age just looks like she's trying too hard, especially with the leggings and the 4 inch heels.

I use shrugs instead of sweaters in the very hot and humid summer. They work well for me under tank tops and sleeveless dresses.

It might be hot and humid outside, but many buildings seem to have the AC set on Siberia. I often bring a sweater or jacket with me when going to church, dinner, etc. You never know when you need one.

There are layers, and then there is Lori Goldstein. I know there are people who love that mismatched look but I am not a fan. I like asymmetrical tops and handkerchief looks, but the unplanned layered look is not for me.

Regarding the original question, camis under sheer and tanks under tops with huge armholes is all the layering I can muster in the Texas heat. I do have to bring a wrap for most restaurants as they keep them as cold as meat lockers. And I race through grocery stores for the same reason. But layers in the summer are only for modesty!

I live in one of the hottest areas of the country and I do layer in the summer. Lightweight tanks under sheer tops. Long tunic tanks with an open knit shrug or vest. Every place is air conditioned and sometimes restaurants are darned cold.

Two layers of featherweight fabric are no hotter nor more bulky than your average 100% cotton tee shirt.

Your philosophy about layering in summer agrees with mine. I never leave home without a blazer, sweater, shawl or something which can be layered over my outfit for warmth in air conditioned rooms. It may be 90-degrees and humid outdoors, but that means it will be 65 to 70 inside most public buildings and restaurants and I would shiver in my summer weight outfit without the cover up.

Aside from the ac issue I think layering in summer just means adjusting the layers to lightweight fabrics.

Totally agree and I think her clothing designs overall are absolutely hideous. Then again, I have seen pictures of her at formal functions with Lisa R and she dresses HORRIBLE!!!!! Her clothing line is outdated, unflattering and matronly looking. "Not ONE" of the hosts looks good in her clothing. Who is buying this apparel? I wouldn't wear it walking around inside my home let alone outside.

Some of you appear to be familiar only with the idea of layers to add warmth. Lightweight layers can be nice & cool when it is hot.

I will reach for light flowy fabric tops to layer over a cami or tank top every time when it is very hot & humid instead of a cotton t-shirt. The latter will be hot & sticky and my back will be drenched.

I sure don't!! At my age the last thing I want to do is to wear layers of clothing! Her clothing line doesn't appeal to me at all.
