I forgot to mention that I hung those original pebble crepe white lined pants to dry after using a cold wash/rinse washing machine. I usually hang my clothes to dry rather than use the low heat on my dryer.

I'm thinking now that Just Jazz mom may have hit on my problem.

Perhaps the material contracts when wet and then expands as it dries.

If it hadn't been for the lining hanging below the pants legs, I'd have never thought anything and would have just let them hang dry - and they probably would have been fine.

When I saw the state of the lining, I panicked.

Sorry for that.

Dagna do you have a steamer? I'd run that over them and see if that helps.

HI DAGNA, I think I am like many QVC shoppers, I also shop at HSN and other department store websites. One day I was watching Diane Gilman and she mentioned something about washing her items. She said when it states hang to dry in the laundering instructions that means when you take out of the washer and hang, the weight of the water left in the wet fabrics works it's way down the item and pulls it down to a certain extent (rather than lay flat to dry which would make some items "grow".) This morning, after I read your concern, I washed my new white pebble crepe crop pants that I received yesterday and they are "hanging to dry"; we'll see what results I have. By the way I have white, lined pebble crepe full length pants Louis did several years ago and have not had any issue when I laundered them (the lining and pebble crepe fabric content are the same as our new crops).

By the way, I love this new cut; the original version had much wider legs that had a much more casual look. I am going to take my original version in several colors and have the legs reworked. Hope we get Chile Pepper!!!

Was it made of rayon by any chance? I wash all of my rayon in the washing machine and hang to dry. When it is wet, it gets kind of "crunchy" and shriveled looking. As it hang dries, it softens to its original size and texture. If you put rayon in the dryer, it will shrink like crazy.
