Like others, I haven't ironed with a crease for a long time. BUT all the Isaac 24/7 ankle pants come with a crease. After I wash them, I usually don't iron it back in.

Thanks, everyone. I lean towards creasing--probably because that's just the way I did it for years. I thought it was probably not in style, now. No more creases for me.

It isn't an issue in the winter months, as most of my pants for that season are knits or wool blends....nothing I would put a crease in. I was just getting a pair of white pants ready for a dinner engagement tomorrow night, which led me to my question.

I don't crease my slacks because that's one more thing that will draw the eye down to the thigh area which isn't my fav! Yes, it is a continuing like but it makes a but the eye goes to the line instead of passing over it.

According to fashion etiquette you can if you like. I googled it up, and oddly most of the answers came from the posters on QVC,!! I kid you not, LOL! What I did find is, it is acceptable for women to crease pants if they like them that way. The trend is usually only for dressier fabrics.

Esquire for men said, men should crease their slacks if they aren't jeans, Dockers or khaki's.

Anyway, luckily for us fashion today is a do what you like world. We have shorts, mini skirts, midi skirts, maxi skirts, pants we can wear it all and still be in fashion. I never thought about creasing until I read this thread. Frankly, the pants I wear are jeans and I don't crease them. I do iron them, because I wear NYDJ's and I wash delicate then line dry. I never dry most of my clothes, so they might need pressing. I press the jeans so there are no lines.

I don't wear white pants, I never have. But, I think white slacks look good pressed with a light crease when I see them on someone else.

These questions always absolutely amaze me. Why are we all so willing to be imprisoned by nonsensical and meaningless fashion LAW? Here's the funniest part of all- I wear creased dress pants because I think they lengthen the appearance of my very short, stocky legs, while ECBG makes an absolutely plausible case for doing exactly the opposite! I wear fitted jeans that don't have "room" for a crease. Get this Ladies- I also love pants with CUFFS! We ALL need to establish our OWN rules that make us feel happy and comfortable and well turned out instead of living for the body parts of other women!

Perfect timing for this question. I brought 10 pairs of dress slacks I wear for work to a new dry cleaner (its been around, just my first time using them) and none of them had creases. I'm bringing them all back today because I prefer creases. I work in Manhattan and fell its more if a professional look. What gets me is that I brought them in with creases, I want them back the same way or I would have told them differently. With jeans, I may or may not, usually put them in the dryer for a few mins with a wet cloth and then I just fold them in half and press a crease in with my hands.
