Everyone loves Linea! Can you tell me why? I'm interested....

I've never bought anything in the Linea line, but people seem to really, really love these clothes. For Linea-lovers, is it the quality or fit that attracts you? Speaking of fit, how would you describe the fit relative to Susan Graver and IM?.....I may have to try Linea soon. What's the designers background? Thx, in advance, for any responses.

I've loved most items I've purchased from the Linea line. Garments are well-made, fabrics are of good quality, and, on the shows featuring LDO, he styles the clothes wonderfully. I always buy based on the Click Here measurements posted in the item description and have only been rarely disappointed. LDO hails from the Parsons School of Design and designed for Anne Klein. His clothes are extremely well made using the finest fabrics and they are classy and chic.

The best line at QVC and doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves at QVC.

Like you, I haven't yet tried any Linea items, but I must say he has a very enthusiastic following, and I LOVE his shows, his charming personality, his knowledgeable presentations, and the dynamite way he styles his clothing! I purchased a jacket once and returned only because I changed my mind about the color on me. But the jacket was wonderfully made. It was a quality jacket and the fit was great.

He just had one on that really looks great.

I just don't need the clothes and just tried for the first time a LZ top and back it goes. The fit is not right and I read the reviews but tried it anyway. The reviews were correct and the arm pits are way too big and not that I mind that so much for a layering piece but it sticks out funny then around the front. Not cut correctly and no wonder on clearance.

Since I'm retired, I don't buy as many of his clothes as I would have, were I still working. However, I've never been unhappy with whatever I've purchased from his line. Very, very high quality. And classic styling.

I agree, have one of his suits and two sweaters. They are well designed, well made. It's the best line on QVC imo. I would have more of his things but most are fairly dressy and my lifestyle is casual. Look at the comments for his items, most of his apparel and jewelry are customer top rated, which no other line can really say.

I love the fabric, fit, quality and styling. Do I love everything? Absolutely not but thy same can be said for any line- on QVC and brick and mortar. I have purchased a lot and sent plenty back for many reasons. As for fit, it depends on the item. I have clothing from Isaac and Susan that I love too. I say just pick an item that speaks to you and go for it. The whisper knits are wonderful as are most jackets. Edited to add that his jewelry is great also!

Just curious-wasn't he the designer let go by the Q and the hue and cry of the viewers was such that they got him back?

For me it is the classic styling, and the fit. These are not throw-away after one season items. They will still be fashionable pretty much forever, as classic is always in style. As has been said before, I don't love everything, but don't love everything I see anywhere else either. I am retired and lifestyle is now casual, so I am not buying as much as previously, but, when I am out and about...you can bet I am wearing my Linea. Yes, the best brand on QVC, for me. Other than some limited amounts of D&C for casual life, Linea is the only brand I buy from QVC these days.

I started buying Linea about 18 months ago, when I needed to buy professional clothing after 25+ years of wearing scrubs. My first purchase was the TSV peplum jacket - I will never forget taking it out of the box, and it fit like it was tailor made for me right out of the box! I have multiples of that jacket now (as many do), along with many, many other Linea items. It's rather shocking how much I have accumulated after only 18 months!!

IMO, nobody does ponte knit like Louis. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his ponte - my favorite Linea items are almost all ponte. I like his whisper knits, too. I've had mixed results with some Linea items - not all are home runs for me - but it's like that with any line, and with Linea there are way more keepers than not. I am not a big fan of his prints, generally, and I tend to stick with pretty basic, classic items that work professionally.

Louis has a real talent with design, I think, and he is passionate about what he does. He truly seems to care what his customers want and listens to them. Linea items are usually cut in a way that is so flattering to less than perfect bodies, and fabrics and finishes usually are a cut above what you will find with any other QVC line. The quality of clothing you get for the price is really phenomenal. For me, "discovering" Linea was fortuitous at this point in my professional life....give it a try. You will likely be very pleasantly surprised.

I've never worn any of his clothes, but my mother, who mostly wears Chanel, Versace, and Jil Sander, loves the Linea line. The clothes look great, and they are very nice looking. They do not look like clothes from a shopping channel at all.

To me, Linea is a diffusion line for the old, really fine quality Anne Klein. What DKNY is to Donna Karan, or CK is to Calvin Klein is how I think of Linea and Anne Klein. Excellent styling, fit, and details at a lower price. You don't get the same silks, cottons, linens, wools of the higher end version, but you get the look for hundreds less. Actually, I'm often surprised at how Louis and his manufacturers are able to offer clothing with the kind of seaming, trims, pocket details, and nice fabrics such as suede and leather to fit QVC preferred price point. If you lean toward classic American sportswear, then Linea is an ideal choice.

The other reason many of us love Linea is that Louis is the only designer who offers a true "collection" every season, which is exactly what you see on the runway. Others offer a smattering of pieces each show, but Louis presents a grouping each season based on a colorway or a print so that everything you buy works back to something else offered. Some of us call it Geranimals for Grown-Ups. This is of course the way you'd find a new season of clothing in a department store, and it makes getting dressed and out the door simple!

I've never worn Susan Graver but I have tried Isaac and I'd say the fit is somewhat similar. I think Isaac, for me, runs just a smidge larger than Linea.

You might try one of the Whisper Knit sweaters or a jacket as a jumping in point as those are arguably the signature pieces of the collection.

No everyone does not love linea.IMO it is outdated styles and does not suit my lifestyle at all. I guess if you work in a conservative office environment it would be a good line.

I have one cardigan from Linea. I'm not really interested in his line though.

I like Isaac much better. It suits my lifestyle.

Yes, we know how you feel, you mention it often.

Not all of his line is geared for an office environment. There are many casual tops that the line has-- the striped short sleeve sweaters for instance, the denim pieces to name a few more and finally the asymmetrical hemmed tops along with the 4 tier boho skirts. They all say 'casual'.

He was never let go and the Linea Ladies did an intense letter writing campaign-- not e mails but snail mails to various COOs and stock members. The plan worked.

Linea deserves more than my quick, must-go-to-work jottings, but the clothes are classic, typically tailored-looking, sometimes on the cutting edge for those who want a different silhouette, sublimely beautiful, boast the most gorgeous colors ever created and they are nicely affordable. The jewelry is also exceptional and not something found in most B&M stores. Obviously, not all pieces thrill me (no line's can do that for anyone), but Linea is a treasure trove for the wardrobe pieces that I use most frequently. My fashion life has become oh, so much easier since becoming acquainted with Louis Dell'Olio's very fine line.
