What is with the HUGE Handbag?

Lisa is in a black dress with heels and holding this huge, tan handbag. The handbag is wearing Lisa. It's too big for a dress & heels. Maybe casual pants or jeans but that photo looks silly and certainly does not tempt me to purchase it.

I do agree. I thought the same thing. I'm a big bag girl, I like the bag but the bag is a very modern "today" type of bag and she's dressed in a lady-like vintage inspired outfit. The two don't match and the picture certainly does not sell the bag. The picture is all about Lisa. There bag is just "there" looking like third wheel.

I would probably donate to my daughter who is 5'9" and carries big bags I have not since I had shoulder problems while working and it turns out that between a briefcase and large bad I was doing a lot of damage to the shoulder -- I make it a point to buy smaller the bigger they are the more stuff you put into them. Between 4" heels and a large bag that is a disaster waiting to happen.

I personally have never carried a bag that large, it doesn't even look comfortable. I don't want a suitcase, I want a purse that holds what I need and little extra room, not an overnight bag!!

I don't mind a big bag, but I must say that is a very big bag, especially for such a small woman! Some time back I bought a very nice, very large bag on sale, thinking I would get in on the big bag trend. To tell the truth, I haven't actually carried the thing even once. It's as big as a suitcase! Maybe I can use it as an overnight bag or carry-on?

This thread makes me laugh. I thought of signing up to win the handbag ..... what have I got to lose. Then I thought about, looked at it, and decided not to. I wouldn't want one even if they are giving them away. Too big. I'd never use it. Let someone who would enjoy it win.

The photographer? assigned to get these pics just blew it. It is done in a way that makes it look ridiculous and out of place with the dress and shoes, and the one in front of a rusting concrete staircase ... well just yuck. At least put some thought into the composition.

As someone who has lived & worked in NYC her whole life, I know it's not practical to carry a huge bag. It takes up too much room on your lap while on public transportation and heaven knows where you put it in a restaurant. When in a small office or cubicle, it's hard to know where to keep it. Also, it becomes very heavy if you have a lot of walking to do. I guess commuting by car is the answer for some.

I see the point about the bag not really going with such a feminine outfit.... And such a big bag is not really needed, if you are say, going to lunch or the grocery store-it can be quite cumbersome.

BUT! Bear with me and think about this-- it's a tote. I have the original medium and the roma 2. They are almost the same size. I regularly use both and I've received many compliments on them from men and women. They are great for commuting to work. I can fit my book, change of shoes, food for the day (breakfast or lunch or both) and a small clutch for if I step out of the office. It doesn't look too stuffed and everything is easily accessable. It's not too much to put on my lap while on the train. I am 5'7".

Neither of my handles peeled. There is some cracking on the seal around the leather on the grommets that attach the handles to the bag if you know what I mean on the Roma 2. But I have coach bag that did that, too. I just live with it. I wish the lining was prettier. The neutral canvas makes it bright so you can find things, but it's kind of blah.

I ordered the blush from Lisa's FB page. I am excited to get it. I think it's a great bag for when you need to carry a lot of stuff, which for me is all the time.

I love large handbags, but I don't think it goes very well with the outfit in that photo. With that dress, I'd opt for a smaller/daintier handbag.
