When I heard she had a cardiac arrest on board a flight, then moved to the hospital, I knew she wasn't with us long.

I enjoyed her in the movie "the Burbs" and some of her comedy acts.

Remember her as the jilted bride in 'The Blues Bothers" and as the single searching female in "Sleepless In Seattle".

Oh NO!!! How very, very sad.. Like someone just said, "Quite a loss". I wonder if her loosing the weight triggered something or if she was taking anything to help with such a rapid weight change.. Not trying to start anything, just asking...

Her poor Mother, daughter, Todd and her family.. I am just sick over it..

I feel so sad. I kept hoping she would pull through. I'm glad if that wasn't to be ,she didn't linger long

It's dreadful thing for her mother to have to deal with. They lived next door to one another

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know until just seeing this thread. May she rest in peace. I'm in utter shock. Princess Leia is gone.....

Addendum: I swear it's a coincidence, but today, I am wearing my Star Wars t-shirt that I received for my birthday this year. A fitting tribute, considering the circumstances, I guess.

I was very sad to hear this. As others have already written, I was hoping that she would pull through.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, but I remember her from other movies, notably "When Harry Met Sally" which I recently just watched..again!

Also, from her numerous interviews, especially with her mother. The banter back and forth between them was so cute!

I know that she had gone through a lot. I'm very sorry for her and her family. I'm sorry for her mother. Debbie Reynolds has been through a lot in her life. What a terrible blow.

I guess for me the take away is to love the people in your life and to appreciate what you've got when you've got it.

RIP Carrie Fisher.

I enjoyed her various memoirs, beginning i think, with "Postcards From the Edge". She had a definite writing talent, a quirky view of the world, and a sardonic wit. And that endearing vulnerable quality, sort of reminiscent of Judy Garland. So sorry that she didn't make it.
