Since I have a plethora of "stuff" that could use a second chance and boxes that have multipled like rabbits my printer is going to be busy.

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -The stockings are hung by the chimney with care, but what about the pile of cardboard in the corner?

Goodwill is teaming up with multiple major online retailers to use empty shipping boxes for a good cause. Shoppers from sellers like Amazon, Overstock and REI can now eliminate the mess while sending donations for those in need, thanks to Give Back Box.

The organization offers prepaid shipping labels that can be printed online for free. Just fill empty boxes with clothing and household goods you no longer need and affix the label, which will ship to your nearest participating Goodwill store.

We have a Goodwill near a shopping area that I frequent so it's convenient for me to drop off donations.

I do not donate to Goodwill but I do get tons of boxes; QVC, Zulily, Amazon, Overstock, BBB, HSN. I spend a lot of time flattening them, then put in recycling bin for weekly pickup. We have huge rolling recycling bins but even then, some of the boxes are so big it's a struggle. They're easier to manage if wet.

The best way to solve the problem for us is pretty much a "rule" here: Box comes in filled; box goes out filled with things for the Salvation Army.

We try as best we can to do this. Maybe we get a box with some aluminum bowls in it and it goes out with a couple of nice winter jackets we don't wear.

If we can't fill all of them, we break them down and they go to a recycling center. On a pretty day? We'll put the really nice ones on the sidewalk on a busy Saturday morning with FREE written on them and people are delighted to have them!

I think this is a fabulous idea, I love when companies and charities come together to develop a great idea that will not only help those in need but also address and encourage recycling . . .

What a great idea! I have a warm quilt (Puffy silky but needs repair). Maybe someone could use this or some older towels, etc.

I have started to pack clothes to give away to Salvation army to pickup after the holidays i have to much,shoes also. All good plus I am no sweater girl anymore.

Great idea! We recycle everything here (they pick up at that curb weekly). So our boxes, plastic, papers, etc all get recycled. (Electronics have to be taken to a place). We do donate clothing to Goodwill though 2X a year, (and yes we put the clothes in a box), but we drive it to the nearest city to donate right at a Goodwill store.

I reuse them, put Salvation Army donations in those that are a bit beat up, or they get recycled.

Because not everyone has a Goodwill store nearby.

And I thought I'd found a way to get rid that mountain of shipping boxes I have. It sounds like a worthy program but it won't help me because I don't have anything to donate. Certainly not enough to fill up a whole lot of boxes. I do that on a regular basis and I donate locally. So, my boxes will be with me until I can figure something out.
