I am finished!

I am finished Christmas shopping, are you?

I have never Christmas shopped this late in my life! I just put in my last 2 orders. I am also waiting for 2 previous deliveries as one was advanced sale on Amazon and is holding up the other b.c I selected pack in least amount of packages. And the 2 things I ordered just now are 1 last thing for my son and 1 last thing for my husband.. But I wrapped everything else I had today, so at least I wont have much to wrap when these orders arrive

And to those in my family that teased me for starting to shop in JULY other years, I told them I will be starting in July next year. Because when I did I was finished by black Friday and wrapped and it was wonderful! lol.

I don't know how people (like my adult children) wait to shop at the last minute. They will probably be out finishing shopping Christmas Eve morning even before we get together in the afternoon.lol.

@Shorty2U.... so glad you are finished....

I believe that waiting can be for several reasons.... one can be an adrenaline rush..... another can be for financial reasons.... another could be that the person is a procrastinator by nature.... we are not all alike.... I am not finished because I am waiting for someone to give me some information.... so I have put my fate in her hands.... re: shopping, lol....

Saw this cute little quote in Reader's Digest the other day that said:

I'm all done with my Christmas shopping now. Now I just have to get the gifts for others.

I had to chuckle at that.

Woot! Woot! good for you

I am almost finished. I have to get 2 stocking stuffers.

Now I am buying new lightweight storage for my Christmas decorations. I'm buying duffel-type storage bags. Now we have very heavy shipping suitcases. They are way too heavy for DH to be hauling up & down from the garage attic.

I got done last Friday. I got a list from our DD that morning & was done a few hours later. Now I just need a few stocking stuffers & a few more prizes for when we play games after lunch on Christmas Eve day!

We just had our Christmas last Saturday! All the kids were up and we opened our gifts, had a wonderful huge dinner, delicious desserts! Its all done for me! Whew!

Congratulations. I'm about 1/2 done. Today a few stops at rick and mortar stores, then finish up with some on line ordering. Thank God for on line ordering with amazon and the others. Great time and money savers for sure.

To avoid holiday stress, I shop early. I listen all year and get some idea of what people either need (which is most of what we buy now) or want.

This year has been the latest I've ever done 'necessary' shopping, as I really haven't had many ideas for my husband, and as he mentions something, I've been ordering it as late as this past week. That is very unlike me, but I simply had no ideas for him.

Now I do enjoy what I call 'unnecessary' shopping in December, picking up stuff for me! or additional add ons for other's gifts should I stumble across things I know they would like/need. But my core shopping is done and wrapped before Thanksgiving (I'm slipping, it used to be by Halloween!) and if I never picked up another item, we'd be good.

The only gifts under our trees are for my husband's office staff.

For family we write checks or give cash. (no one is ever disappointed)

Ha..ha...You're funny! LOL finished?!?

Significant challenges this year with some health issues of family so time got away from me...but then again it does every year! How can the time go so fast? It was just Halloween yesterday it seems??

I still have a bunch to get plus stocking stuffers!

I know so many who wait to the last minute..find what they want and pull it off without a problem! So your adult children are part of the norm these days..lol

Some families have to plan and schedule around spouses family...work schedules etc...so they pick a day that works for everybody and has their family holiday that day.

Your tone was very rude and I hope it was not intended to be as such?

People have commitments on holidays and as long as they are happy and can get together to celebrate - whatever works for them I say. I have a close friend that got tired of trying to schedule a quick two hour visit with opening gifts with the grands and some food...so they could be out the door to the next place...so she got them together and they chose a day close to the 25th as they could that worked for them...and she had her famly holiday that day...the kids are little and told that Santa had to come to grandma's early as the sleigh wasn't big enough...they are young (2.5 and 4) so they were believers.

She loved it..said she had them all day long..they were able to leisurely open their gifts..have snacks before dinner...than had dessert...so don't be so quick to judge others.

No. Not finished. I'm waiting for 3 items to be delivered. 2 are supposed to be delivered today according to tracking and one next Wednesday.

I still have to go buy 1 gift for my sister yet and I have to get a gift certificate for DH's aunt and uncle as well as something for his brother. I'm totally stumped on him.

Sitting here 10 days prior to Christmas and I can't believe everything is done except for some casual, but not necessary baking.

Now I need something to make myself anxious (I know, really?). So I will preoccupy my brain with what in the world am I going to wear to my DH's family get together or the grocery shopping and prep of the new recipe I plan on taking.

Seems I am never comfortable that everything is done, finished. It is a very tiring personality trait.
