Is Anybody Experiencing Unexpected Delivery Delays from UPS?

I received an email notice that my qvc package would be delivered Tuesday, 11-29 by 8 pm. Late Tuesday night. I received an email saying "due to operating difficulties, my package would be delivered Wednesday. I have received a message everyday saying the same thing except that the day is changed. I just received another email saying it might not arrive today either.

I have two packages from Amazon that were scheduled to be delivered this Saturday, the third. I just received an email saying that might be delayed.

I called UPS to find out if I could pick my QVC package up from their facility because it's not that far away and was told no because the person I talked to was at an off site (maybe India, she had an accent) and couldn't relay that message. All I could find was an 800 customer service number for them. You used to be able to request that a package be held for pickup. I don't believe that service agent.

Is this how delivering are going to be until Christmas? I'd suggest that everybody doing holiday shopping and want it delivered in a timely manner, place those orders now. I've never had to wait for an Amazon package passed the promised date.

To answer your question, no.

BUT

Slow deliveries have occurred when bad weather, man made disasters and other things beyond control have happened.

Any fires, flooding large snowfall in your area?

This is one of the reasons I rarely buy anything from the Q. Their deliveries take FOREVER and tracking is HORRIBLE. Thank goodness for Amazon!

I was suppose to get a package yesterday from UPS, but it was reschudled for next week. Besides that, everything has been fine so far. I live in Georgia and UPS has been having hard time travling because of the wild fires and tornados. I hope you get this worked out soon.

I now live in a rural area and really dreaded what I thought was going to happen with my deliveries. I am pleasantly suprised with how fast I receive all my ordered packages. I don't buy from QVC but all things I order are at my doorstep within days or even before.

Are you saying that you received emails from QVC or UPS saying that there would be delays?

Almost all of the UPS packages that I've been getting (from any source) have not been delayed, but they haven't been delivered until late in the evening. Normal UPS delivery time for us is around noon, now we're lucky to get anything before 7p.m. But every year the few weeks before Christmas our driver gets assigned to a diffferent route and we get newbies that don't know our area.

@geezerette, the emails are from UPS. The package was ordered on the 27 th. It arrived at my UPS on the 29th. Everyday since then, it was scheduled to be delivered but was not. The notice said it was "Due to operating conditions your package may be delayed and rescheduled". Then later that night, another email would come saying it was delayed.

Now, I get an email from UPS saying my 2 Amazon packages are being delayed for the same reason.

I got an emaiI like that from an Amazon delivery recently. I thought it came from Amazon, but I'm not positive. I got several emails about it.

I don't think I'd get too concerned unless the delay is more than a few days. We just had all those Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales so I imagine all delivery services are swamped and will be until Christmas. And they might have had some sort of problem on their end in your area.

If you're concerned, you can contact UPS customer service a couple of different ways from their website. Maybe your could get through better that way.

Earlier this week I got the UPS message "Due to operating conditions your package may be delayed and rescheduled". But what was strange was the package was at my local distribution place - just a few miles from my home. I have never gotten that message before and thought it must be something about the local center that was messed up as the item was so closely located to me.

It was delivered the next day so it was OK. We had no weather problems or anything else that should have accounted for a package not being able to make it a few miles to me. I thought it just might be the volume of deliveries UPS has to make this time of the year. Maybe they are calling extreme volune "operating condition" problems??

I just got a E Mail from UPS saying a package from Macy's would be delayed for the same reason they gave you.

I know the UPS site says they are still experiencing delays in the Gatlinbug area, but not sure of any other issues. I had a "delay" notice on a recent Q purchases via UPS. But tracking said that it had not arrived at the UPS location yet. However, it is not back on track and only delayed by one day.

Recently received a UPS shipment on a SATURDAY. My UPS guy said they were now working 6 days a week. (I'm in the metro DC area.)

I got that message from Amazon today in fact. It should have been here 3 days ago.

I-80 in Wyoming has closed twice already this winter so who knows why everything is delayed. If you watch interstate pile ups on you tube there's almost always UPS and Fedex trucks involved.

In SW PA, haven't notice any issues yet. I did have an issue with a package I was tracking thru USPS a couple of weeks ago. The tracking data had an odd message about the package was undeliverable, contact the US Postal Service. When I called our local post office I got an apology and was told our mail person had it in her truck but "forgot" to deliver it.

No big deal, it came the following day. But its just an example of "the standardized answers" they send. I am sure UPS and FedEx have a standardized list of answers. So one never knows what the true issues for the delays are.

I'm beginning to think that the problem is at my particular distribution site. I'm getting the same delay message about packages from two different companies. If this goes on til Monday, I'm going over there. It's a short drive.
