In my professional career, no.

Since i I quit work, maybe yes, maybe no: I have discovered that I am adept at doing nothing. I relish having nothing to do, and my husband does, too. A robot could do nothing quite well, but would it enjoy it? Would it put out into the world the gratitude that I feel because (a) I had a long and successful career, which I enjoyed, and (b) we were wise enough to listen to inner guidance and plan ahead so we could quit at 55. Actually, we put the concrete plans in motion at age 53 after years of discussing options. It was hard to keep quiet for two years. I knew within a range of a couple of weeks when I would giving notice six months before. I remember being on the company jet for a regular ny trip about six weeks before I quit. I felt I couldn't get the silly grin off my face, and the fact that I was so happy about it all--grateful for the past but glad to bid it adieu--told me I was doing the right thing. My last day at work? I kept wondering if tears would come. They never did! I feel I danced out of the building! Another sign that this was right. Hmmmm.... No. A robot would not be able to feel all the joy and gratitude that I do.

No...most people couldn't do my job. It requires a lot of specialized education and years of experience to do it well. It's funny because years and years ago when I first started doing what I do, there was talk about how eventually the function would be computerized....but that certainly did not happen. We use programs to help us do the job but it still requires judgement and reason.

Until I recently retired, although the industry wanted to promote that at least part of my job could be done in an automated fashion, the answer was really no, no matter how much the higher-ups wanted it to be yes.

A robot could listen and type, and due to the fairly dismal state of voice recognition, even after all these years, would screw it up to the point that humans would need to go along afterwards and fix it. So - double work in order to roboticize.

The rest of my highly service-oriented job? No way.
