Getting lost in links/youtube (for hours!).....

Someone mentioned 'vocal fry' on a thread in AF. Never heard of it so I went to youtube.

A woman demonstrates what it is. Weird, that's what it is.

So youtube has those *sidebars* (I call them).

I see a sidebar youtube video of Lucille Ball, so of course I've gotta watch the video. Bless her heart she has the ultimate vocal fry I guess from cigarette smoking.

Then a side bar to that video was her and Vivian Vance. Vance tells a hysterical story of the King of Siam barging in on Lucy at home...you gotta hear this story. Seriously.

Then it goes on from there *sidebar leads to sidebar*. I can't tell you how much time went by watching one thing after the next.

It ended with me watching an almost hour long video of Piers Morgan interviewing Raquel Welch live on stage in front of an audience.

She is at the opposite end of vocal fry, btw.

And all that from just investigating what the original thread was about.

Happens when people post links here, too. The links leads from one story to another. And before I know it, it's time to make dinner!

This is how I ended up 'binge watching' the mtv show 'Catfish' a couple weekends ago. All those sidebars when i was watching just 1 episode- I'm caught up to the current season now!

Hope it's ok for me to post this.

I love looking at you tube videos. One of my favorites, that I've watched several times is from QVC in England. Search for QVC Vacuum disaster. So funny.

Not related to voice fry.

Have you ever heard of Bad Lip Reading? BLR?

boy, i've been there and done that!

i end up spending so much time watching stuff that has nothing to do with what i'm searching for. very time consumimng!

The same thing happens to me on Pinterest! I'm not much into Youtube, but once I start clicking on pictures on Pinterest, down the rabbit hole I go. One link leads to another, and you're far from where you started. And sometimes it's almost scary trying to get back to that original board, ha ha.

Yep more proof - I watched this and just excited YouTube about 1/2 hour later ending up with how to make a dupe of a Pottery Barn mirror from dollar store items lol

I wanted to watch the British version of these shows- I'm such a fan! Who are the current coaches/judges?
