I'm not in either North or South Dakota. On the news for the past few days. Looks like no fun. Cold here, but, life can go on. Can get out.

Mail moving, etc.

@SharkE I agree. Headed to granddaughters end of next week in Northern VA. Always check weather ahead...15 day forecast: 2 days snow predicted. 1 on travel day up & other travel day back. Will definitely take extra clothes, meds in case stranded a few extra days. Main roads always cleared but side roads take longer. Being from NC rarely get winter weather. Think our small town has 1 sand truck!! If snow hits, we're inside for at least a week. If even a hint of a prediction, within an hour, the grocery shelves clear of bread, milk and beer (?). Can't find candles or flashlights & bags of ice are scarce. Our power goes out easily. It's a real mess. I kind of like staying in as long as I have my provisions, some jewelry to work on, blank canvases/paints, a few great books and some Krispy Kreme doughnuts, of course. LOL 😂

Best thing is it's so quiet. all the nuts off the streets. Keep 'em inside their own homes. LOL

We've lived in both Grand Forks and Minot, ND. I'm so glad we aren't there now. It's horrible when it's a blizzard there. We get them in MI too off the lake but nothing as bad as ND. The Arctic looks just like it.

I saw one new blurb this morning showing school kids going to school during a snow storm (blizzard?) in one of the Dakotas! Hardy folks!!!!

Been there, done that back in central New York. Only fun thing about it is getting use out of my favorite leather pant suits, coats, gloves, and boots.

Lived in eastern Montana for awhile, in a similar ND environment. At -20, even got to -40, for two weeks out on the plains. The mercury just pooled at the bottom of the thermometer and stayed there. My car steering wheel disintegrated one morning. It was brutal. I could see a move in my future!

I hate puffer coats too! That's one style that should have stayed in the past, as far as I'm concerned!

When you live in the Dakotas where we were, warmth was fashionable!! LOL

Oh my gosh @KingstonsMom @Shanus I thought I was the only one that hated them! I have never seen one person that actually looks good (or comfortable, lol!) in a puffer coat! So ugly and awkward looking on everyone! I thought it would be a short-lived trend but nope, year 4 and I see more than ever. ugh Michelin Man is all that comes to mind when I see people wearing them!

I would never survive living in North Dakota. I'm cold at 70 degrees! It's been snowing lightly all morning here in NE Ohio, and the heavier stuff is coming later in the day. The lake (Erie) is still rather warm, so when the cold air crosses over it, it picks up the moisture and dumps it on us!

What I dread most is the first snow because everyone around here forgets that you can't drive like a nut, as they normally do. There will be lots of accidents, and I don't want to be one of them! I put my 160 pounds of weights in Mr. Mustang's trunk last night and filled him up with gas. He's ready to go (just not as fast as usual)!

I can say personally that not all of ND and SD are experiencing the weather that has been shown on the national news recently.

We do have cold temperatures, but the sun has been shining everyday and in my area, we do not have as much as 1 snowflake to report.

The 'reporters' need to show something sensational to get on the news. They probably picked the worst of the worst for each state. The snow, cold and bad roads are nothing new for either state; I know I lived there for more than 20 years and returned a few years ago.
