I found this article positively, totally absolutely HILARIOUS!!!

SERIOUSLY---Mr. George...other ONLINE RETAILERS offer BOTH the SAME convenience of shopping from home, but with actual discounts and better shipping, and no "try me fee" (when you return something you lose your original shipping and have to pay for the return label which amounts to around $10).....

And as far as "compelling products" all I'm seeing is the same ole products they've been showing all year....and even some products that returned from past several years .... and adding a color an then calling the entire product "new" just doesn't do it for me.......And haven't seen anything truly NEW an COMPELLING!!!

As far as the "best price"....not so Mr.George....group of us all chipped in and bought a Ninja for a friend....sorry but both Best Buy and Costco beat you......AND to top it off, this wasn't even a sale price, this was their regular price....

These are the reasons I'm watching and buying a heck of a lot less from QVC these days.....

Que up the song "Dream On" by Arrowsmith because that is what QVC's CEO is doing---JMHO!

Just a future tip---all you have to do is highlight the url click COPY come to the forums and click the paper clip and paste the url in the box....

Sometimes you can just paste the link right on the Forum without using the paper clip..

I thought it was rather amusing when he said we offer products in a relaxed atmosphere.......ha, not w/some of the hosts yelling at you w/their hard sell and unprofessional attitudes!

All right, so @Spurt, as for the Q's latest foray into SPIN... Oh for heaven's sake... I read the brief article and listened to the video (as hallucinatory an experience as that diatribe of pure illusion.. or delusion... might well have been... and it was...) and all I can say is they're off their collective rockers up in Q-ville...

When they start throwing around words like 'inspirational' it's a true "HUH" moment... WHAT is inspirational about a dust mop... or the same tired products being touted hour after hour, month after month...? But the thing that really got me was the notion that shopping the Q is a more relaxing way to shop... Has he WATCHED those Host-zillas lately...? They're practically frothing at the mouth...

If he really wants to know what his customers think, he should consider reading the boards... A good place to start might be the current 'Bye-Bye Q' thread...but he needn't stop there... The forums are loaded with feedback... should anyone care... or dare... to take a look-see...

Oh Stevie....why I knew you would "enjoy" the article and video..... I think QVC is totally delusional......and I must say QVC's marketing department has one GIGANTIC imagination to use the words, "innovative, inspirational, and interesting" to describe the reptitive dull and boring QVC products that potential customers are subected to....too bad the buyers, programmers, and top brass aren't as imaginative in their respective crafts to initiate changes to bring inventive programs and products to QVC. that are truely unique and new!...

As for the hosts.....well their antics just speak for themselves...and perhaps QVC's CEO should gather customer opinions as to whether or not this Barnum and Bailey style and downright silliness makes customers buy, and regardless of what the hosts may think--the bottom line is whether this frenzy contributes to customers buying or not.....to me IT DEFINITELY DOES NOT!!! and just another reason to change the channel and shop elsewhere...

EMBARRASSED/BLUSHING oh I see what I did .....I put the WRONG link instead of the link about QVC I copied and pasted the Michael/Kelly link which was from another thread/discussion.....I went back and corrected...sorry for the confusion...

It generally is NOT relaxing to watch qvc. It is often hyper, loud, obnoxious.

They also don't necessarily show us how to use a product very well. The fake application of beauty products on an already made up face is not helpful.

I agree with you, @Spurt and @stevieb. QVC's business model is so outdated now that online retailers are so popular with better products, better pricing, better (faster and free) shipping. Who are they kidding with this article?

I'd rather see an article announcing a complete overhaul! QVC needs to jump into the 21st century and offer customers value and better customer service. I resent paying $10 just to try something on! And, sometimes I wait more than a week to receive it. They need to listen to customers and make changes.

I agree never understood why they can't start with a fresh face instead of applying makeup on top of makeup.

Spurt, you are spot on I did most of my Christmas shopping from amazon with delivery in 1-3 days and most all free shipping, also from Nordstrom and zappos free shipping. I was a QVC customer from the beginning when it truly was Quality,Value and Convenience and the hosts looked and spoke in a professional manner those days are long gone yes Mr. George is delusional.
