Now I know this subject has been beaten to death but I wanted to mention--if an item DOES NOT have their Smart Label included, you will have to pay to send it back. I believe it will say before you order it, whether it has that label. I will check thta out and edit this post if neccessary. And you can't pack those items in with the ones that do have that label. I kick myself that I recently ordered the KC puffer coat that was 8 sizes too small and was going to send it back, only to find it had no Smart Lable return and it would have cost me over $20 to send via USPS!!!! If it had the smart label it would have cost $6.99. The stupid thing cost me $38 to buy it!!! Am so angry!! Going to donate it but dang, am I angry for not realizing that whole scam. So-------no more buying from E.

P>S>--OK so there is no mention of whether an item has the Smart Label when you are just about to push the order button. I sent an email to CS to see what they say. Will keep you posted.

I had a paypal problem with them early on. Item was charged but then they ran out of so no product ever even sent, called and they said it would take 6 months for paypal to give me my money back. I complained and complained and they said that they had only one person who was in charge of the paypal link and it would take time. Finally I got the money back but what drama! Paypal said they could not help me unless they got authorization from Evine. It was he said she said kind of problem.... what a mess. Never again.

Wow, I didn't know that. I have been buying clothing from them since summer but I haven't had to return anything so far, so I didn't know about the Smart Label issue. When they were Snbc, I stopped doing business with them because after many many years of being a faithful customer and spending many thousands of $$ over the years; they had the audacity to treat me like a thief when I reported that a measly $40 jacket never arrived at my home. I only went back to Evine last summer.

The package goes to the vendor NOT an HSN location. When HSN is informed by the vendor that the package has been received, then they will credit your account for the cost of the item. Now, you can choose to send it back anyway you wish; you may then call HSN and give them the tracking number and receipt number from your shipping location (UPS, USPS, FED EX). They will key it in and will then credit your account with spendable Kash OR mail you a check; you choose.

There are many threads about it on the HSN forum. The #1 complaint is that neither the hosts nor the website inform you that if there are ANY issues, you will be dealing with the vendor and NOT HSN customer service.

As for QVC, it has happend twice regarding a food item and piece of furniture. I now ask before purchasing either if it is shipping from a QVC warehouse or the vendor; they'll tell you.

@willdob3 No, it isn't. The cost is still deducted from the return.

I've asked all 3 regarding free returns based on an item being defective and all 3 say to call them FIRST and let them know you're sending it back and why. They'll input info regarding the return and that you should not be charged for the cost of shipping (some will credit you shipping both ways). Then, fill out the form showing it's defective. All have said that if you just fill out the form, it's a 50-50 chance you will still be charged.

I've printed out many labels but if you want to send something back UPS to HSN and that isn't an option to print, they will mail you one. I prefer UPS as it's much faster and includes insurance.

I do a LOT of online/over the phone shopping. It simply works much better for my needs.

If CS knows it is defective you get full amount back (or credited) no charge for the return. They email or send a free shipping label.I have done it a few times.

I have not had problems returning items to HSN or QVC either.

Yes, they are weird with the shipping labels. I ordered a sweater and they didn't give me a return label and I took it to the post office and it cost me $8.00 to send back. I choose very carefully what I purchase from Evine. Thankfully I bought the sweater on free shipping day or I'd be stuck with it. I have had them send me the wrong item and used the shipping label even after calling CS and been charged for shipping. I do think they are the worst of the 3, but they do have good incentives on products I use and love.

Hold on, there's a lot of misinformation here.

Some items are not eligible for a smart label, that is true, but the statement in the OP saying if it doesn't have one you have to pay for the return is not applicable here. You still have to pay for the return if you use the smart label, they deduct the cost of return shipping from your refund. Either way sending an item back costs you unless it truly is defective, and I do believe many people mark defective on items that are not just so they don't have to pay return costs.

Marking all these clothes defective that people say don't fit is IMO, many times just not truthful. People order the wrong size because you are shopping on television and a size 6 in a D&C is not the same as a size 6 in a Linea for instance. Just like in B&M stores one can take in 3 pairs of jeans from 3 different brands all in the same size and some will fit and some won't. They aren't defective, it's just the way things get manufactured in different facilities, This has been discussed a million times. Clothing and shoes just are not all created equal, depends on fabric, stretch, cut of the garment and so on.

The reason some items don't have the smart label included in the packaging is because some items ship from the vendor, not Evine's warehouse and the vendor does not use smart labels,

Earlier this year I ordered a alternative feather bed from Evine, it came in the wrong size and I called them to let them know and they emailed a FREE return label because it was their fault. No problems at all. I order from them quite a bit.
