A recent survey found 66 percent felt comfortable making calls while driving in a parking lot, and more than half would text. Roughly half of drivers were OK with sending emails, using social media, taking pictures or watching videos. Forty-two percent said they would video chat.

I do most of mine online too. For that reason but also because I don't like all those germs going around in a group of crowds that time of year. Who wants to be sick over the holidays.

For sure!! I can't tell you how many times I've almost been hit in parking lots. People driving waaay too fast through the rows.

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one that loves shopping online, especially this time of the year! I think the S/H you have to pay on some items, is worth the aggravation of driving in traffic, be sure you are safe, standing in line, etc.! So many women I know, won't do it, they say "oh I need to see it in person", blah, blah, blah!

Of course you stand the risk of getting CC info hacked, but I think it is more of a risk in a brick & mortar store, and with people standing all around you!

I like to shop 'both ways' but I do know I feel less and less secure on the roads every day.

Between the technology people can't let go of long enough to get from point A to point B and the increase in people driving under the influence (this area is have so many people ODing on heroin in cars), the risks are rising.

I had a teenage boy run into the back of me because he was on the phone. I was polite about it, as was he, we exchanged insurance information, and I told him I hoped he learned something about the dangers of using a phone while driving before he seriously injured someone. He was shook up and said yes. Here is the bad part: Awhile later, his father called and asked me not to turn this in to the insurance companies because "he's only a kid," and he had "had a couple of other accidents" (!!!) and " this will hurt his record and insurance rates." Talk about an enabler! Talk about helicopter parenting! Only then did I become angry, but only with the parent, because he should know better. I said something to him like, "so you're going to enable your child and let him keep up with this dangerous behavior until he kills himself or someone else?" I told him his son seems like a really good kid, which he did, and I didn't want him hurting himself or someone else. I added that hoped that the father would have a chat with his son about this and that I had already turned it into my insurance so there was nothing I could do about it. The father hung up on me. Disgraceful.
