Good Morning, Cherry, thank you !

I used a pumpkin last year but I thought this was pretty cute for this year.

Pies are necessary for Thanksgiving imo, and I'd rather have a piece of pie instead of cake any time of the year. Just a personal choice, nothing against cake

I don't have it often, but pie is always my choice of dessert. I also like to make quiche (pie) and a few other savories.

I love quiche and pumpkin pie. I like my pie spicy, topped with whipped cream . I can't have it often ,but I do let myself have some at Thanksgiving, and Christmas

Holidays are the only time we have a pie at home. I used to make them but I'm not a good baker, that was my mother, not me

Thankfully they have good frozen pie shells available because I like to make the pecan pie for thanksgiving. I get a pumpkin pie for Halloween, a mincemeat pie for Christmas and a cherry pie for DH's birthday.

I bake the pumpkin custard in a square pan, without a crust. It helps a bit with carbs, and still tastes wonderful

What a good idea, @cherry ! I don't really care about the crust, it's the filling that matters to me.

A 9x12 cake pan will take enough filling to make 2 pies, and you don't have to worry about the crust getting soggy

BTW, for a couple of years I made Derby Pie for the Kentucky Derby. Delicious, but I gave it up because it has to be packed with calories.

It's Southern, basically a pecan pie with a lot of chocolate chips and bourbon. Wow!

I love the South!

I've been in Virginia and stayed in South Carolina for a couple of weeks (love Alexandria and Charleston) and DD has stayed in Texas awhile and worked in Atlanta, I benefited from her memories and photographs.

Southern food has contributed so much to American food, delicious!

I took Southern Living magazine for a long time, not only for the recipes, but photos of homes. I love it when they highlight beautiful parts of the South, places to stay, restaurants, all of it.

OMG, I would love it! From what I've read about Savannah, it has a lot in common with San Francisco, both being port cities and benefiting from all that brings.
