Do you think teasing is fun?

I don't. I think its bordering on abuse. This is a link about children being told their parents ate all of their Halloween candy. Some of the kiddies were mild and mellow, and others were Tasmanian devils, when they were told

I saw this earlier and must say, some of those kids need some serious anger management intervention! I do not think it is funny at all that they ran and hit their parents in a fit of anger, cussed or said they hated their parents. I know your post wasn't about that, lol, but I was disturbed by some of the reactions of those kids. But wow, some of those kids were just toooooo sweet. What gentle, innocent souls!

I love it! Kids have no filter and act how adults want to act but feel they can not. Wouldn't it be great if we could just have a temper tantrum whenever we are upset? Cry and stomp and kick our feet? Bet there would be a lot less violence in the world if adults could act out like children. WAAAAA!!!

Maybe... Then again, maybe a lot of the world's violence is because grown ups are acting and reacting like children, only with lethal means at their disposal...

Cry, yes. Scream and rush someone and hit them or the camera in anger, no. That is not a healthy release of emotions. Besides, there are still adults who have temper tantrums and it ain't pretty, nor is it funny or cute. In fact, at times, it can be deadly.

In small doses goodhearted teasing or bantering is affectionate between friends or a relative and child. Some people don't know when to stop though.

I'm not a Kimmel fan.

I'm really not one to tease somebody UNLESS it's an inside thing and we are BOTH in on the joke. I wouldn't do it to jab at somebody, or to hurt their feelings, or even if there was a chance that it would result that way. I consider that kind of thing just plain meanness.

@HappyDaze @cherry This is just MY Opinion......The deadly incidents are people who hold all the hurt and anger inside and never let it out.... then they BLOW UP. If they had acted out their frustrations more often like children, perhaps they would have gotten help or been noticed that they were unstable and might be dangerous.

Having been the victim of more than my share of teasing, I have very strong feelings about it......it is fun ONLY FOR THE TEAS(ER), NOT THE TEAS(EE)!!!!!!!!!! And yes, I think it's a coward"s way of saying things they don't have the courage to say otherwise. All in the name of "but I was just teasing - you're so sensitivie". NOT! I HATE teasing, unless its truly very mild, obvious just kidding around.

A little good-natured teasing is fine but I though this candy thing was just plain mean and a little sadistic. Parents lose credibility pulling stunts like that.

Teasing IMO and my experience is abuse, especially when it's directed at the child who has no power or defense. Teasing is very confusing to children and you feel like the adult does not like you. I think when adults tease each other it's disrespectful and the teaser really means what they are saying. I don't believe adults are just kidding or don't mean any thing by what they tease you about.

It all depends who is doing the teasing and what the teasing is. If malicious then no. If it's genuinely funny, not mean, and from someone I know well enough to be teasing me I'd probably think it's funny.

THere is a difference between teasing and bullying.

I see it this way (and raised my kid this way)...life is tough. It is, among many other jobs, a parent's responsibility to raise kids to be strong. People are going to pull pranks, tease, etc. Who wants to raise a child that can't take it, or acts out horribly when that happens. Who can stand someone who can't take a joke, or cannot laugh at themselves?

Things like that trick about the candy, can be used to teach kids to not react immediately, but think it through, and get proof before you fly off the handle about things.

It could be used to teach them what it important, and it isn't Halloween candy (even though that would be quite devistating, to have all your candy eaten).

It was interesting to see the presenters' (newscaster, entertainment show host) reactions to airing the videos. They either thought it was hilarious or adorable. I'm not a fan of any kind of teasing, but where children are concerned, especially very young ones, they take it at face value -- as a hurtful or punishing action. They don't really comprehend "kidding around", at least not initially. Sadly, too many adults don't bother to understand it from the child's point of view.

I hate that Kimmel bit every Halloween.

I would never do that to my child, so many look so hurt, baffled and disappointed, and Kimmel laughs like a loon. I can't even imagine a parent willingly teasing a child like that.

I do think Kimmel can be funny, but not that.

I really like Kimmel but I would never do that to my child.
