It ishard to get on the computer these last few days and shuts off. Does anyone know what this means it comes on before shutting me off.in a few minutes

The computer shuts off? We need a lot more information. What kind of computer is it? What kind of operating system is it running? Does it give you an error message? What are you doing before it shuts down and what does the computer do before it shuts down?

It could be malware, a virus, or a hardware problem.

I'm no computer expert by any means. My computer has been wacky since the mandated Microsoft updates about 2 weeks ago. The tech guy at my husband's office has told the employees to IGNORE all updates in the forseeable future. Easy to do if you have the office version, but automatically done on my home computer. It is like we have lost "control" of our own computer.
