Need a Christmas Gift Suggestion

I am looking for suggestions as to what to give my personal trainer for Christmas. I apologize for the length of this post, but this is really important to me and I value suggestions. Normally, I do not have a problem with gift giving. Since I workout at the Y, if I only have one class with someone and depending on how long I have been in their class, I usually give a $5 or $10 convenience store (think WaWa) gift card.

However, I have my personal trainer for one session of private training and then three other classes during the week. She has been with me since I had a critical injury that resulted in my retirement. I believe that her guidance is really responsible for my continued recovery. She and I have been together for at least three years.

I do not want to give her anything that would make her uncomfortable, and I am not sure that a large gift card from a convenience store would be something that she would even want. I know that I don't want to give that to her.

She likes good wines, but I am not sure about bringing a bottle of wine into the Y. I thought about a restaurant gift certificate since there are several really nice restaurants near her home. Not sure about how much, but dinner for two would easily top $100. She might not be comfortable taking a gift that expensive.

Your thoughts and ideas would really be appreciated. Thank you.

My SIL is a personal trainer and loves anything Under Armour. I would check out the brands she wears and get a gift card to that store/site. Gear is expensive and people are picky about their brands.

Fitness is so popular today that I'm sure you could find something relating to the profession.

You say she likes wine. We have a small bistro type restaurant that does dinner with wine tasting. There's also a wine store that has wine tasting. You could check into that.

Another suggestion is a get a nice kit with a bottle opener and a gift card to a nice liquor store.

As she does enjoy a good wine, is there a nice wine/liquor store in her area that you could purchase a gift card or maybe an online place that she could sample something different?

It's very kind of you to want to recognize her for the help she has given you in coming back from what was clearly a catastrophic injury. I hope you are feeling better and wish you the best in your continued recovery.

So many great gift cards out there, especially online. This way they can choose what they want/like...my niece just got engaged, I live over 3300 miles away, so I opted for a egift card to a great upscale restaurant (googled) in her hometown. My neice and her fiancé were very happy with it. They said it'll be a great treat and wonderful evening out. Mission accomplished 😉

Anywho, wine shops & liquor stores sell gift cards.

@SXMGirl A gift card to a wine shop seems to be a better way. Unless you specifically know the type of wine she drinks a gift card is safer.

A "good" wine doesn't have to cost a fortune, either, so whatever you feel $$-wise is appropriate for you to give is fine.

I gave my Jazzercise teacher a gift certificate for an hour massage at a nice day spa......she's an elementary school teacher and also teaches Jazzercise 5 times a week. Sometimes trainers focus on their clients, but don't get a chance to pamper themselves.

Thank you both for your suggestions--they are great. I never even thought about a massage, but that might work better. She travels to Napa every year to visit friends who own a winery, so she probably has enough wine. Don't know why I was drawing a blank.

I don't know where you live, but see if you can find vouchers for a wine tasting tour. I know where I live they have those and beer tours. It might be fun and unexpected. Look on Amazon Local.

KaliaMonet, thanks for the suggestion, LOL, but I will pass on the humidifier. However, if I was so inclined, I could save on s/h and just ride down to the Rehoboth outlet store and pick on up. They have had them on sale for a while.

I will see if there are any wine tasting tours in the area. Great idea. Thanks.
