I tell you watching Shawn tonight eating the Grandma's Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cakes M52023, I had to order one for my family!! I just love a lady that can actually eat the food without worrying about calories!! It was so refreshing and I can't tell you the joy it gave me seeing her enjoyed it too!! Good for you Shawn and we shall enjoy it too!!!

Personally, I don't like watching any of the hosts eating. You know they are all going to say it's delicious and make all those corny expressions like it's the best thing they ever ate.

It's not just SK, Sharon Faetsch eats plenty on the food shows. Other hosts do the same.

I don't know how anyone would successfully sell food without tasting it and trying to convey how delicious it is. Otherwise, who would buy any of it? Food, especially over the TV, has to show its emotionally satisfying benefits. Merely presenting the ingredients, quantity and price would not sell food (unless it's diet food which we all know does not have the primary purpose to actually taste good - LOL)

I do think some do a better job of it than others, for my palate. As another poster mentioned, Sharon Faetsch goes into [too] long Shakespearean monologues. I cannot watch her food shows. But besides David, she's their most frequent food presenter. Obviously her style of presenting food appeals to many others.

Have you ever seen a host say, "Ew, no thanks"?

Or, "Oh, no, I'm watching my weight"?

(P.S. Is there something wrong with someone NOT eating a big piece of cake? If you're not on TV selling it, that is)

Colleen Lopez used to host a lot of the Wolfgang Puck shows and she used to taste just about everything he had, sometimes she would nearly eat a meal during his shows.

You could tell when she started to lose weight because all of a sudden during his shows, she would take one tiny bite of something he cooked but nothing more.

I have no doubt these hosts all know what that stuff tastes like before going on air. It's all an act if they claim they've not tried something before. There are no surprises. No one in their right mind is going to try something live on air for the first time.

YUP, David. Too funny. He hates stuffing. Female vendor wasn't aware. She was taking stuffing out the oven.

Vendor: "Doesn't this smell good?"

David: "Yes"

Vendor started moving a spoon full of stuffing towards David's mouth.

David: "No thank you I don't like stuffing."

Vendor: "You don't know what you're missing."

David: "Yes I do. Now let's go over colors....."

I don't know the vendor's name. She's the one who sells pots & pans. She has dark short hair. She could be a cook. Not sure.

LOL...I didn't know David didn't like stuffing. That's funny...he seems to like all food!

And to the OP: Grandma's Coffee Cake is probably one of the best foods that Q sells. It's the best coffee cake I've ever had. Enjoy

As for Shawn...I think she's a good host. I haven't seen a lot of her (because I don't watch any Q during the day because I work and when I get home I just don't watch it then, either). But the last time I saw her was about two weeks ago. She looked completely different (in a good way). I was wondering if she had a snip/tuck done? There was something different about her; I just couldn't put my finger on it.

Had to laugh at that. When I first started going out w/my S.O., I always told the waiter or waitress to tell the cook to pile my plate up.

S.O. started smiling. Said, I love a woman who loves food as well as eats like a human & not like rabbits & chickens. Then he goes on to say, you never order rabbit food (salads). I told him I never order anything I can make myself at home. ROTFLMAO!
