HSN Gifts

Fantastic idea, HSN's Today's Special is.....this is brilliant, an umbrella. Now who couldn't use an extra umbrella for the car or the office? Why hasn't QVC thought of that? They could outdo them because they're not pretty umbrellas. They had the most fantastic flashlights last year in a set of 3, and I use one every day.

Oh, I don't own an umbrella. In 17 years living here in the desert, I've never needed one.

I agree. This is the 2nd time the umbrella has been a TS. I passed the first time but may pick one up today. It's nice to see items like this presented, just a shame that QVC chooses to pick mostly more expensive items for their daily specials.

Not crazy about the color selection for those TS umbrellas. I just don't care for a black umbrella on a rainy day. I wish the color on the outside was a complementary color to the underside. I prefer bright colors for my umbrella. Just a "thing" with me, I guess.

I bought this a while back when it was a TSV before (spring I think). It's frustrating that they show it as new and no reviews.

It's flimsy. The little nubs that hold the fabric onto the frame are constantly coming off. It's a great concept, but poorly executed.

Not paying $25 for that umbrella --or for any umbrella. I could use one of them that folds small enough to carry in my bag - and I'm buying locally.

Last umbrella I bought on the Internet is the heaviest one I've ever owned. It'a never the one I choose to carry along. It lives in the car for those days it decides to rain when I've already out of the house.

We get a lot of rain here & I often get drenched getting in/out of the car in the rain. It is bigger than I want - really need something that fits into my work tote - but I figure the case w/strap might help & I could still use more compact umbrellas when the rain is not heavy or when it just looks like it might rain.

I agree they are pretty unattractive & the last thing I want on a gray, rainy day is a BLACK umbrella. Give me color to brighten my day! I ordered the black/purple one and if it works, great! If it is defective I can return it for free - any time before the end of January. I figure if it is not going work for me I will know before then. And you can believe I'll save the packaging all that time to be on the safe side.

BTW, all it takes to find HSN reviews on this from the last time they had it is a simple google search. I think there were over 350 reviews & it got a 3.4 rating.

I love the idea that it turns inside out so you don't get drenched when getting into your car. However, I want a HUGE umbrella and this is too small.

Our elementary school has these amazing umbrellas that will not turn inside out no matter how strong the wind and can cover an adult as well as 3 children; they are used during drop off and pick up and I want one. Apparently, it's a company that only sells to organization/companies and the public can not purchase them; not even teachers can buy one. Apparently the county contracted and purchased them for each school (elementary and middle) with the school name and logo on each.

The principal would LOVE to get her hand on these for a fund raiser (many in the county would) because parents are always asking about them, but no deal.

Can't imagine why they wouldn't want to make the extra money.

In any event, if the HSN one was that large, I'd buy a bunch of them!

I rarely use the umbrellas I have now and I wouldn't buy those ugly ones.

Are you being sarcastic? I can't think of a more silly TSV especially since they are in holiday host pick days. You mean we are supposed to believe that the hosts picked an umbrella for a TSV.

FTLOG you can walk into anywhere from a drugstore, to a dollar store to a mart store to a dept. store and buy an umbrella. Zzzzzzzzz.

i missed out on the last ones and am interested to try this new umbrella design. good pricing and they would make great gifts. i dont use umbrellas often either......but we do get a good amount of rain around here at times, so i always like to have one in my car for heavy downpours.

I bought a beautiful, quality umbrella while we were in France. It's made there and cost about $35. When I use it, I think of our travels!!

Yeah, that's been their MO for some time now. An item gets a lot of really bad reviews but it's lucrative to sell, so they change the item number and that removes all the negative reviews.

I've also seen them, in the past, to just keep the item number intact and simply remove the negative reviews.

if you put in "hsn umbrella" into a google search you will see all of the reviews on the umbrella.

368 reviews, 3.4 rating, 59% would recommend.

@GSPgirl Rarely. We've been in a drought about 10 years and we get 3-4" of rain a year. Not worth keeping up with rain gear so I don't bother.
