Old Threads Being Brought Up

Threads that are SIX YEARS OLD are being brought to the front page of Community Chat, by someone who just registered.

We need to alert the Mods about this, so that they can deal with it.

Afteral, that is what they have asked us to do.

I have already reported some of the threads, and alerted them to the troll.

Let's hope that this problem gets taken care of swiftly.

I did alert the mods already and have a thread on the customer care forum. This has been going on for at least two hours. I also emailed the mods about this.

It's a massive mess for the mods to clean up, it'll take a while. IMO don't give the troll the attention.

Maybe the Mods don't clock in until 9 o'clock???

I thought that they had Mods on around the clock.

They are always so slow at removing them, perhaps they need to remove old threads period.

If not just lock any posts past 2016 that are no linger acitve

All they seem to be doing is removing the comments, they need to remove the whole post unless that's a separate function.

Look, the mods are doing the best that they can to deal with things like this.

While it is easy to suggest locking inactive threads of a certain age (whih i think would be great) or deleting them, none of us knows what is going on behind the sfcene or the capabilities of the software used to run these boards.

It could honestly be a case of something like that needing to be done manually for each individual thread which simply is not feasible with current staffing, and I seriously doubt QVC wants to invest the resources to do this for a free message board.

Our best option when things like this occurs is to simply notify the moderators. Opening up additional threads to omplain about it only serves to give the trolls the attention they seek and contribute to the moderators' workload.
