Teen suspect said to be in custody, three injured, two are children.

Hi Noel,

There is also a body found in a home three miles away from the school and the police have connected it to the teen shooter.

Since there was just a shooting near me within the last week, with five people dead, I really don't want to hear about another shooting.

This just a horrific situation and I'm relieved and happy no children were seriously hurt but also sad about whomever died in that house.

Before this, the closest it ever got to me, physically, is the high school student the year before last in Marysville who walked into the school cafeteria and shot several classmates.

This last one..I was just in that Macy's a few days before. It's horrible. We are hurting very much around here.

Macy's. It's understandable that hit you hard, I am so sorry.

Anything with kids hits me hard. When my daughter was little a young boy came to her school with a loaded handgun looking for people he disliked. The assistant principal was the hero, no one was hurt because of his quick action.

One of the girls that died was 16 and a student at one of the regional high schools here.

I work/volunteer in our local schools. I think about this a lot.

I guess we can't say too much more, but I suspect you and I are on the same page with this.

I'm not arguing your good point, @MyGirlsMom; however, although no child was physically injured, I can guess plenty of psychological harm was done to them. How do they ever feel safe in their school again? How do their parents ever let them out of their collective sight again?

I cannot imagine the pain, the fear, the agony these innocent people have endured today and will have to continue to cope with for a very long time. There's a lot of serious hurt to go through yet.

There was a news conference, the dead person is the shooter's father.

The adult that was found killed away from the school was the father of the shooter. He was 47. The shooter was taken into custody without incident. Authorities do not seem to have many answers or won't relate what they do know, not even basics like where the event took place--inside the school or outside. The weapon was a handgun. The LEO that was heading the news conference doesn't seem to know much of anything.

Teacher was shot in the shoulder. One student was wounded in the foot and the other in the leg.

The shooter is 14-years-old. Student was being home schooled because he was expelled from school last year.

One of the boys has been released. The other was undergoing surgery at the trauma center earlier; no update on his condition.

There will be another news conference at 9 p.m. but now that media has identified the shooter they are gathering more information.

All I could envision was another Sandy Hook. My heart and mind were solely on the children being killed.

As far as the psychological damage , that goes without saying...the damage is permanent.

The teacher has been released from hospital.

The shooter was taken down by an unarmed volunteer firefighter and held until LE arrived on scene. The firefighter has served the community for 30 years.

The shooter did not enter the school. The shooting took place on the playground. It is unclear if the shooter was actually on the playground or shot through the fence. He had a truck that crashed into the fence.

I just read both of the injured children are six years old. That's my grandson's age. He's in the first grade. OMG
