Weighed in this morning. Ate nothing, ran to the store, was gone about an hour.

Came home, gained a little over a pound.

Why?

I ate my usual "program" food after that. Figured maybe I haven't been eating enough & my body is trying to protect itself because it thinks it's going to starve?

Any ideas?

I agree with @Noel7 -- and your scale is really likely to be the culprit if it's a humid day where you live.

Most bathroom scales are good to tell us the direction of our weight over a longer term than a few hours. They're aren't nearly as accurate as most doctor's scales or those used by various weight loss companies. That's probably why WW says (used to say?) weigh yourself once a week, not every day.

I can weigh myself 10 times a day and get 10 different weights. As long as I'm in a certain range of a few pounds, I'm good. Lol

I never worry about 1 pound because it could be all kinds of things and really doesn't make any difference unless you're in a competitive sport where you have to meet a strict weight requirement.

Just a suggestion...don't weigh yourself hourly or multiple times a day. It doesn't provide useful info. Even weighing yourself daily isn't very enlightening and could be discouraging.

My guess is the variation is due to your scale. I used to have one that gave different results depending on where I stood on it. I could weigh myself 10 times in succession and get 10 different results . The one I have now is more consistent.

You shouldn't weigh yourself every day and certainly not multiple times a day. That will only drive you crazy. Weigh yourself weekly, at the same time of day, on the same scale. Our bodies fluctuate during the week and over the day. It's not unusual for me to weigh 4lbs more at 10pm than I weighed at 10am. It's fluid. Weight loss is a gradual process, concentrate on what you are eating and drinking not the scale.

I have a WW scale and the instruction book said weigh yourself once a week at the same time. Your weight will vary. I would not weigh every hour on the hour. I am sorry to say but this is crazy making. Just stick with your routine and you will be ok. Just keep positive and don't beat yourself up.

The 2 pound thing sounds right. I don't always gain 2 since I split my meals eating each one in parts.

If I eat too much in one sitting I get bloated.

Most days I do gain a pound and a half to 2 pounds.

I'm losing very slowly, about a pound a week. Can't go much faster as I am unable to do heavy exercise.

I do not weight myself but every few months just usually go by how my clothes feel and what the 6 month check up reading says on the Dr.'s scale.

But when I do weigh it is always at the same time of the day no clothes no shoes and since my hair is down to my waist it is never wet. Way to heavy when it has just been washed. Naked, dry and at the same time of the day is my rule.
