Husband Pet Peeves

My husband is one of four brothers and I feel like I got the best one, he is my love and best friend BUT there are few things that drive me crazy!

He waits until the last minute to put gas in the car, he reads the gage and knows how many miles he has before the car will stop.

He will leave two sheets of tp on the roll to keep from changing it.

He also will leave justthismuch of any beverage in a carton or pitcher so he doesn't have to throw it out.

Also. when he cooks, the kitchen "explodes" with pots. pans, utensils, etc.

Anyone else?

Which is why mine isn't allowed to cook!

Even though it would be nice for me not to have to do it once in a while, it's just not worth it.

Well I have no pet peeves today. He's been in stellar form LOL and yes mine cooks, as do I. Mine also does his own laundry and the yard work. And works full time.

He isn't usually a clean as you go cook but he does do dishes regularly and is good about helping clean up.

He can't seem to go to the grocery store without calling me though, sometimes multiple times.

His list would be FAR longer than mine! I know how lucky I am. I have no significant complaints! LOL!!!

I would say that if those are his faults you are pretty lucky. Ask yourself if you have ever ran out of gas? Are the meals he cooks good? Do you have a spare roll of toilet paper by the toilet in case you need it? Now I do agree that the things you listed would be a little annoying but I think we have to look at the overall picture and now I would like for you to list his good qualites and things he does do then we will see if there is any balance to the scale and if there isn't then he has to go but if there is then he is a keeper!! LOL LOL I am just teasing you.

@scatcat I'm not sure you understand the fallout from some husbands who cook. I am grateful when my husband wants to cook, but I also break out in a cold sweat and have to take a chill pill. On the outside I look like this: 😀 On the inside I feel like this: 😨😨😱😱😷😷😲

Be grateful he's in good health and he's not dieing of a serious illness. That in itself is worth it's weight in gold.

I'm not lucky, I'm blessed..

My late mother in law was 4'11 and had four boys, she taught them all how to cook, clean, and sew . She wanted to know how to take care of themselves.

Ha ha ha ha ha! Well, you aren't alone!

Last year I had a flat tire & called the AAA to come rescue me. He was a chatty guy and I asked him what he would say is the #1 reason that men call the Auto Club .... and he said they run out of gas!!

Apparently, men often overestimate how much farther they can drive when the low fuel light goes on!

I think some of you misunderstood the meaning of this thread - LIGHTHEARTED is one word that comes to mind.

I am grateful for what I have and who I am married to and din't want to start a round of what I should or shouldn't do.

My husband was a good cook when we were still single. After we married, he tapered off as I became a better cook. That'll teach me!

Other than that, we've been together for so long, his quirks have become my quirks and mine have become his, so it all works out.

Incidentally, he's one of five brothers and the best and brightest in the bunch.

Thank you for the post but I am in no way dwelling on his faults. I mentioned pet peeves not felonies.

MGM, I hear you. Anyone who has been living with a significant other or husband understands exactly what you mean.

The nice thing, though, is that we can kid around about their faults but when the chips are down, they are there for us as we are for them. I learned that recently and I am trying really hard not to say anything anymore when he "hides" the remote.

Come on now. You should know better than to think you can't start anything "light hearted" and have it stay that way. LOL. There are always those who will take something simple and light-hearted and turn it, twist it, and bring in down.

In response to your OP, mine has all the same AND more, much more annoying and beyond annoying things. I will refrain from stating them.

Yeah, come on people, everybody has some funny little quirk!

Here's one from mine: SF is so into recycling and DH takes it very seriously. He has a special collapsible bowl only used for bits of garbage to recycle, like banana peels which then go into compostable bags and eventually into the recycle food bin.

He is obsessive about getting every tiny bit of leftover food into his bowl, even teabags. He does a great job but then he forgets the bowl and leaves it on the kitchen counter much of the time
