The Paula Dean controversy

I remember when Paula Dean fell from grace.....and QVC dropped her as a vender( bravo QVC). Now I see Ms. Dean on Evinelive. Wonder why they would pick her up after all the problems that surfaced with her big mouth? They treat her like she is some Goddess on that station....it actually turns my stomach.

Because people are human and make mistakes. She appologized and begged forgiveness and most in this country are a forgiving group. And she has a line of products that appeal to the public.... as well as a personality that commands attention (whether we like it or not). She makes money for them.... that's probably the reason.

I'm not a fan of hers and had agreed with QVC's decision. She's paid a heavy price for her own ignorance and her deplorable brother.

BUT

Time moves on and what has already been mentioned, she has her fans and they certainly enjoy seeing her on Evine. Good for all involved.

I won't be watching nor buying.

Many forgave her particularly people of color. She did after all provide employment and her employees floursihed and seemed to be happy. I was not a fan.

I didn't see DWTS with her on it. I use to watch her show, she was never rude and crude on there. It would be hard for me to believe she was rude and crude, I would have to see it to believe it. Especially when now more than ever the entertainment industry is so full of rude and crude these days.

I also do not understand why someone saying ya'll is offensive when it is simply a dialect. If someone's accent or voice irritates you just don't watch folks.

Actually I thought it was QVC that made the mistake and I'm glad she found a new shopping channel. She's an older lady from the south and she apologized - I believe in redemption and forgiveness and think we need to move on.

She is rude and crude. She is old and Southern breed. She was "allowed" to do what she did and kept doing it because she didn't know anything different and it made people laugh. Her "people" kept it going ... her advisors and investerers kept it going. Southern Charm and slang at it's best (or worst). It made money for all and almost everyone was happy.

No, I'm not a fan, but I see it everyday and I also say Y'all everyday. We do make crude jokes and enjoy being silly. She took it to the extreme for ratings, or whatever, but it didn't work. She has paid a big price and will forever. She hopefully learned a very good lesson.

She was extremely inappropriate and very crude on DWTS.

I'm not the only one that feels that way. If you didn't watch it, you can't possibly say you don't believe it.

My recollection of her stint on DWTS was that she was heavily made up and on more than one occasion tried to act like a Can Can Girl which of course fell flat and made her look ridiculous.

I think Paula Deen is a nice lady who deserved a second chance. I'm glad she got one. She has a line of furniture that has some beautiful pieces.

I just watched some of the YouTube clip, I stand corrected, she seemed drunk and the bit about her underwear was not southern charm. This is a side of her that I never saw on her cooking show.

At any rate, I am sure she paid a price for her poor judgment and we all fall short. I have been to her restaurant several times, people seemed happy to work there and the food was pretty good, but my granny was a better cook.

I never understood the Paula Dean fame. I never liked her before the ugliness came out. It has absolutely nothing to do with her being from the South.
