Storm? What storm?

My youngest daughter went down to Cape May today with her girlfriends and won't be back until Tuesday. They had rented a townhouse for Labor Day.

They are going to try to find high ground to park their cars.

I'll let you know if they met Hermine.

PT doesn't start for almost three more weeks. I am improving with movement of my arm and hand and, in fact, am typing this with two hands. I have to rest often, but I'm thrilled I can do it.

They won't have great weather, but knowing them, they will have a great time!! Thanks for asking @AKgirl2 !!

I love the unpredictability of Mother Nature! I know officiaks have to prep just in case, but I'll be overjoyed if all the prep goes for naught in my neighbor. Doing the prep is way easier than cleaning up after a nasty storm.

It sounds like this hurricane will have fizzled into a rain storm as it moves up the East Coast. That's fine with me. I'm looking forward to the rain, as there's been too much heat this summer where I live. We had our first sub-50-degree night of the summer this weekend, which I was glad to see. The intense heat will return later this week but will lose its grip on us within two or three weeks. I don't like months of freezing temps, but I welcome a relief from this hotter-than-normal summer.

I'm very glad to hear things are improving...things happen so quickly and at times take so long time to get better. I'm sure the girls will make their gray skies blue 🌈 Once again, glad you're on the mend

Latest is the storm in way out in the Atlantic. I don't think your dd will get any rain, only WIND, WAVES, RIP TIDES AND HIGH SURF.

I am in Westchester County and we were getting warnings starting as far back as last Wednesday, well today was a glorious day, light breeze and cool in the share and very warm in the sun.

I live in NYC and the weather today was just beautiful! The media likes to scare you to death, but I guess they are just doing their job. I would rather be prepared and have it turn out to be nothing than a big storm and being caught by surprise.

I just heard the new forecast. Just like yesterday, now they said there's still a chance the storm will track back west towards the shore.Those on the east coast should continue to monitor status of the storm.

@Jordan2, It was certainly a beautiful day in NYC today, and we haven't seen a gorgeous day like today since June. However, I don't believe the media wants to scare people to death. Hurricanes and tropical storms are highly unpredictable and can cause death and destruction as we all saw in this area with Sandy.

I agree that the media is doing its job, but it is their duty and obligation to call it as they see it. I remember watching a PBS documentary about hurricanes about a couple of years before Sandy hit. A meteorologist was describing the nightmare scenario about a Sandy-type hurricane hitting the NYC area and the destruction it would cause. I was totally frightened by that prediction, but he was 100% right. It happened the way he called it so far in advance. At the very least, I would hope that most people learned their lessons with Sandy, and the warnings in our area this weekend were a good rehearsal for the next big one, and the next big one will come.

I am on LBI & the weather today was very sunny & beautiful .. the only problem was the wind ... according to NJ News 12 the winds in Harvey Cedars were 39 MPH .... the beach looks fine but there will be high tides in the morning that might cause some beach erosion... time will tell!!!

They are saying it's headed to N. Jersey NYC and perhaps Boston. (I think?)

S. Jersey is slight sun and a chill in the air. Water in bay is close to the top of the bulkhead!

Channel 6 action news truck was in Somers Point ( they were probably hiding in back!) Adam or
Melissa's are usually on the Boardwalk talking to beachgoers.

Your daughter should be having a great day in Cape May!

Not true here in Savannah, Ga.

After 2 days of no power, believe me, it was a big deal here.

About 15,000 homes here still have no power.

There have been floods, deaths, major property

damage, power outages, erosion etc in many states. Very "big deal"

imho.
