Good grief.

No matter how they spin it, it is $150 for a device that shaves your peachfuzz. It's a scalpel blade with Clarisonic thrown into the mix so it's "more" than a scalpel blade. It needs recharging. It has disposable blades that (supposedly) "cannot" be re-used, and three months worth costs $50 (including some "mandatory" soothing lotion you "must" use).

I cannot imagine spending that kind of money for something a $10 device you can buy in the drugstore will do *just as well*. Seriously. It's a razor. A razor is a razor is a razor. And then being conned into needing the "special" one-use-only "edges." Heaven forbid we should use the word blade.

No one can convince me that I wouldn't get the same results with a Finishing Touch or a disposable razor, some scrub, and $10 "soothing lotion" of my choice.

I believe it may be more effective than a razor, but the fact that you can't reuse the blades is a total turn-off. I love this "Each is specifically designed for single use. To maintain sanitary conditions, each Edge will self-destruct after use."

I just feel it's money I could/would use differently. The non-electric blades do dull quickly but they only cost about $5 per use vs. Dermaflash's $12.50. If you used a non-electric razor twice that would drop to $2.50 per use. The battery operated ones cost $10-15 for about 2 months of use, before it gets too dull.

At QVC's offer price the cost is about $35/mo. + s&h for 6 mos. including the device and after that $50/mo. + s&h for the refills.

I realize that some will buy it; to *me* it's wasted $$, but that's just me.

I ordered it. I really don't care about buying the refills. I've developed a lot of peach fuzz and stray hairs since menopause. I've used the disposable razors and actually slipped and cut off part of a mole. And, I've never liked the way the other "lady's" trimmers have worked.

I also like the exfoliating feature. My skin is sensitive and doesn't hold up well to facial scrubs.

If I don't like it, I'll send it back. But, if it does the job, I'll happily buy the refills. We penny pinched for years and don't have to anymore. It's a luxury that I'm going to allow myself.

Marilyn Monroe was known to be as photogenic as she was, because her skin was covered in a fine layer of peach fuzz. Her face appeared to glow in photographs because of that layer of peach fuzz on her skin. That fuzz helped deflect light in photographs and make her glow.

QVC has sold so many Emjoi and Tria devices in the past, this seems less useful especially when you have a one use blade. I personally have an emjoi and clarisonic. These do the trick. I also carry a little gadget call Lilibeth. Lilibeth is to remove that peach fuzz and I have have mine forever!! It is a shaper and cheap to replace. This is for those inbetween moments. Carry it everywhere and use it anytime.

I have used razors and they were ok but I couldn't get close when near my lips or eyebrows.

For anyone interested in a MUCH cheaper device than this that works AMAZINGLY, go to ULTA and purchase the Panasonic Women's Facial Trimmer for $19.99 (20% off if you have their current coupon).

Reusable (you can wipe it down with alcohol after each use), lasts... well, I shave every few days and mine is going on 6 months with no issues.

Had I NOT known about the Panasonic, I WOULD have purchased the TSV.

@febe1 I tried those also. Went back to my razor. Those blades cut me more often than not. The Panasonic was recommended to me by my stylist who also used to use razors. Once I tried it, I was WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!

I was watching at midnite about this tool--it looked like it was doing something---just saw the peach fuzz coming off but not really the layers of dead skin--maybe that is too fine to actually see on TV. But the models faces sure looked nice. I won't be buying it however, the once-only use of each blade was the deal breaker as well as the price.I use a clarisonic at night, and the Luna in the a.m. as well as exfoliate 2x a week. My skin looks just like the models---smooth and shiny--but do need to shave the peach fuzz occassionaly. I have one of those blades to do that; it is VERY sharp tho and have learned the hard way how to use it--a few cuts will teach you quick. Will be interested in hearing any reviews.
