So, Michael Phelps just said

the reason for his famous "death stare" during the 2016 Rio Olympics was because he was listening to his favorite rapper. He appeared on the Video Music Awards Sunday, August 28th and introduced his favorite rapper "Future." He said he had on his head phones and was in the "Zone" listening to his music just before he won a gold medal.

He explained how hip hop is his favorite. LOL. Ok so now we know Phelp's was in the "zone."

@bri20 Why do you assume it was an issue? It was just a well talked about incident that has been discussed and tattoes and paintings abound of this likeness now. Not in a bad way. Some speculated that the guy in front of him was trying to intimidate him. Good to know he can't be intimidated.

I actually think it was because of how Chad Le Cros was antagonizing him and he didn't realize his expresssion was so visible (and caught on camera) and now he is trying to save face as he wants to appear as if no one can get to him. And that is my story!

Oh silly lady, I've been an athlete all my life. I am well aware of the prepration and tactis athletes use to prepare themselves, psych them self up and to try to get into competitors' heads. You certainly can believe what you want though of course. Some people can be naive.
