Does your husband, friends or family "mess with" your pots?

My husband, youngest and sister like to see what I'm cooking and change a few things. Tonight my husband decide the roasted chicken was done enough (it wasn't) I had to put it back in the oven. He thinks if it has 'color', it must be done. Then he took the white rice I fixed and made it into fried rice.

Them is fighting words in my book..grrrrr.

Husband and I share cooking duties, I love when he offers to cook. I taught him everything he knows, so we cook alike.

Walk away and tell them to call you when the meal is done and on the table.

Or you can share with them what they are doing is annoying you.

Or you can have arguements over the matter.

Or pick up the phone and call take-out.

My husband was a much better cook than I was when we first married. As I improved my cooking skills, he developed amnesia in the kitchen. But he does help set up and clean up after meals.

My husband has zero cooking skills. My motto is stay out of the kitchen unless I ask for your help...and it works for us.

To the original poster....I would not be happy and would turn over the cooking to your husband until he quit 'helping' you

Oh My! I would not appreciate their input.

My husband and I share cooking duties. But if one cooks, they other cleans up. It has worked well for us.

My husband will sometimes offer to help (probably knowing I'll decline) on a big cooking project, but he would never inject himself in my cooking.

For whatever reason, he seems to think that I"m just the best cook in the world so he wouldn't want to mess that up! haha

We also have two sets of pots because my husband likes to cook everything on HIGH. Lots of burning going on..but he still sneaks and uses mine.

My next set, I'm leaving in the box and each one as needed.

We both cook. I am a more advanced cook, but he is VERY good and likes it. We have instant read thermometers in almost every drawer in the kitchen. NO raw birds for us!!!!!

When I first moved back from college I had my parents over to dinner at my apartment. Mom was hovering behind me, looking over my shoulder at every move I made. My dad finally called her into my little living room and told her sit down and leave me alone!

NO ONE was to be in mom's kitchen when she was cooking. Unless she was by some miracle showing me how to cook something my presence in her kitchen was not wanted. Her mom was the same way.

When I was visiting over a holiday my SIL had me cut up potatoes for mashed potatoes. She looked in the pan, told me they weren't small enough and to re-cut them. I was about 28 years old at the time. It did not go over well.

Isn't funny how some people are in their kitchens? I like to clean up as I go but my husband and (adult) girls like to wait until after they're finished.
