Cicadas please go away!!!! LOL

These are the loudest bugs ever. Symphonies played anytime of the day. The ebb and flow of the chorus can be so loud at times, I have to turn up my television. LOL.

When I had them in my yard, the dogs would be chasing them all over the yard and eat them up, but there were just too many for two dogs to handle. I do not miss those red eyed noise makers at all.

Yes they are loud-can sound like a freight train running through! Its kind of fascinating though that these relatively small insects can make that gigantic noise! I don't mind it and am sort of liking it this summer.

Maybe I'm just used to loud noises this year-them, kids screaming in the pool for hours, etc etc.I can sleep though it all!

It's the heat. They'll be less noisy as the temperature falls. At least that's what some science teacher told me.

I now live in an urban area and haven't heard cicadas in a very long time ..... I also miss fireflies.

We don't have cicadas or fireflies. I kind of miss the cicadas as they're symbolic of summer.

My gosh, i grew up with these sounds they make,i remember we would find their skin on the ground, never bothered me.

They are so loud.

I don't have the windows open because it's too hot out and the air is running - but there would no way we could stand the sound.

I see carcasses all over outside. They're huge...

Where are the cicadas showing up this year? I'm in the metro-DC area and we don't have any. I was thinking this was our year for them, but I guess not.

I am getting used to them now but they drive me nuts!

I used to hear sirens and car alarms now I hear bugs and birds.

I will take the bugs and birds my old town sounded like a war zone.

I pray I never have to go back.

I head someone say when you hear the cicadas, it's a sign that summer is coming to an end. Usually happens, so they say, in August.

We have been closed up inside with the air on because of the high temps and humidity...so I don't hear them until I go outside...

Cicadas as murderers in the below written by Christopher Rice, the son of Anne Rice (Interview with a Vampire) his book scared me to death about these bugs.
