Jesus is the greatest giver of happiness that anyone has ever known.
Take Him into your heart. Lord, Your presence in my life brings me
great joy.

Scripture for the day:

"If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you
wish, and it will be done for you." ~John 15:7

Meditation for the day:
"Ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." God has
unlimited power. There is no limit to what God's power can do in
human hearts. We can will to have God's power and we can ask God for
it. God's power can be blocked by our indifference to it. We can go
along our own selfish way without calling on God's help, and we
receive no power. But when we trust in God, we can will to have the
power we need. When we sincerely ask God for it, we can receive it
abundantly.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may will to have God's power. I pray that I may keep
praying for the strength I need.

And may we all have God's Power! Hello my friends! Hope you Mother's all
had a wonderful day today. My blessings were seeing both daughters today at
her future in-law's. The meal was great and the fellowship wonderful! She's
marrying into a nice family. Thank you to all who read this thread, and
thanks to all who respond here - and arrianna, welcome to our thread and do
come back whenever you can - thanks for your great post!

Think of Others

Lord, help me live my life for Thee
to think of others instead of me
and help me give my very best
without regard for need of rest.

Until I've run the race you've set
and every righteous goal is met.
Then will I pause to give thee praise
for all the grace that blessed my days.

Then lovingly will I lay down.
a life of work, to thee a crown,
unworthy token though it be
to you who gave me so much for me.

A Child Lives What It Learns

If a child lives with criticism, He learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, He learns to fight.

If a child lives with ridicule, He learns to be shy.

If a child lives with shame, He learns to be guilty.

If a child lives with tolerance, He learns to be patient.

If a child lives with encouragement, He learns confidence.

If a child lives with praise, He learns to appreciate.

If a child lives with fairness, He learns justice.

If a child lives with security, He learns to have faith.

If a child lives with approval, He learns to like himself.

If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, He learns to find love in
the world.

MEAN MOTHERS

Someday when my children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates a parent,
I will tell them:

I loved you enough...to ask where you were going,
with whom, and what time you would be home..
I loved you enough...to insist that you save your
money and buy a bike for yourself even though we
could afford to buy one for you.

I loved you enough...to be silent and let you
discover that your new best friend was a creep.

I loved you enough...to make you go pay for the
bubble gum you had taken and tell the clerk,
"I stole this yesterday and want to pay for it."

I loved you enough...to stand over you for two hours
while you cleaned your room, a job that should have
taken 15 minutes.

I loved you enough...to let you see anger,
disappointment, and tears in my eyes.

Children must learn that their parents aren't
perfect.

I loved you enough...to let you assume the
responsibility for your actions even when the
penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.
But most of all, I loved you enough...to say NO
when I knew you would hate me for it.

Those were the most difficult battles of all.
I'm glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.

And someday when your children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates parents,
you will tell them....

Was your Mom mean? I know mine was.

We had the meanest mother in the whole world!

While other kids ate candy for breakfast,
we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.

When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch,
we had to eat sandwiches.

And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner
that was different from what other kids had, too.

Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all
times. You'd think we were convicts in a prison.
She had to know who our friends were,
and what we were doing with them.

She insisted that if we said we would be gone
for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.

We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve
to break the Child Labor Laws by making us work.
We had to wash the dishes, make the beds,
learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry,
empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.

I think she would lie awake at night thinking
of more things for us to do.

She always insisted on us telling the truth,
the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

By the time we were teenagers, she could read
our minds. Then, life was really tough!

Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk the horn
when they drove up. They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them. While everyone else could
date when they were 12 or 13, we had to wait until
we were 16.

Because of our mother we missed out on lots of
things other kids experienced. None of us have
ever been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime. It was
all her fault.

Now that we have left home, we are all educated,
honest adults.

We are doing our best to be mean parents just like
Mom was.

I think that is what's wrong with the world today.

It just doesn't have enough mean moms.

A PRAYER FOR MOTHERS
Good and Gentle God, we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the
women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new
life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage
they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always
brings.

Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but
humanly.
Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care
for the physical and spiritual growth of their children.
Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the
trials of motherhood.
Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it
most. Amen.

M_O_T_H_E_R....

"M" is for the million things she gave me.

"O" means only that she's growing old.

"T" is for the tears she shed to save me.

"H" is for her heart of purest gold.

"E" is for her eyes with love-light shining.

"R" mean right.and right she'll always be.

Put them all together they spell
"MOTHER"
a word that means the world to me.

I Thank God for my MOTHER

Then to the disciple he said, "This is your mother." John 19:27

O Jesus, my God, I have loved the earthly mother You have given me,
loved her in all her goodness, loved her because of all her love for me.
And now I shall love my other Mother too, love her will all my heart,
with a child's own simple love. She is Yours, but she is mine, too.
Like John of old, I shall take her to my own and hold her for my Mother.
Thanks, dear Lord Jesus, thanks for Mother Mary. Thanks for all her
love these years that are no more. Oh, make me know and love my Mother.
