I am shocked that the host started the presentation about the Zika virus. This product does not contain any of the ingredients listed on the CDC website as effective for repelling the mosquitoes that transmit the Zika virus. So wrong.

I saw the video presentation of Kerstin presenting this product. Unless they cut off the very beginng where she mentioned the Zika virus, she never said that anywhere during her presentation. However, she certainly alluded to it several times.

According to the CDC, the way you prevent the Zika virus is to not get bit by mosquitoes. And you don't get bit by mosquitoes by using a repellant and that's what this product is. This product is all natural so no it doesn't have any of the chemicals in it that other repellants have and that the CDC recommends but that doesn't mean it doesn't work in preventing you from getting mosquito bites that in turn would prevent you from getting bitten by a Zika carrying mosquito.

Repellents do not affect every breed of mosquitoes equally. The breed that carries the Zika virus is not repelled by just any mosquito repellent. The CDC lists which ingredients repel that breed.

The all natural product sold on QVC contains lemon grass oil.

The CDC has said you can use a repellant containing oil of lemon eucalyptus and that it is as effective as DEET.

I have no idea if lemon grass oil and oil of eucalyptus are the same or not.

Oil of lemon eucalyptus and lemongrass oil are two very different things. Lemongrass oil is just common citronella.

And wow. That QVC would be okay with on-air stretching of the truth about something like this is pretty gross, IMO. It may not be out-and out flat lying, but it is stretching accuracy to the breaking point. Ewww.
