A shocking T Shirt available on Zulilly!

i just received a e mail from Zulilly advertising a kids T shirt available in size 2T to 10 from a company called Urban. It is a grey tank top and imprinted on the front is says "Sun's out Guns out"in yellow letters. I am shocked and disgusted that they would sell a kids t shirt with this message on it.

I think guns out refers to the upper arms (biceps and triceps). There's another saying "sun's out, buns out" that the Daily Mail uses sometimes when running photos of celebrities who post their bare behinds on social media. UGH!

They may mean their arms/muscles. Not really guns. I've seen this shirt forever in boardwalk shops and that's what I thought.

"Guns" refers to your arms...as in the kind attached to your body. So the tee is a sleeveless one for suntanning.

Even if the intended meaning of "guns" in this case are the arms/biceps, it is a very ill-advised message to have on a child's tee shirt. Children only know one definition of guns unless the other slang definition is pointed out to them. I hope they remove the product.

Send an email to their CS complaining about it. They're very receptive to customer concerns.

They have been advertising $20 silver plated bracelets as "sterling". I contacted them and eventually got them to understand what sterling is and that they're falsely advertising it. I haven seen that advertising since.

I find the gun culture obscene, but I do know that kids know that guns also refer to their biceps. "Gun show" to the young ones, now refers to other young ones who parade around in shirts that highlight their muscled arms.

Wearing a shirt with that slogan doesn't make anyone a "tool". It's popular in beach areas among those who exercise. I see nothing wrong with that.

I find the gun culture not at all obscene, but what is, is the fact that we now have one more word that isn't usable for the many variations it has been, because everyone gets in a tizzy.

Let's see, now we shouldn't hit the gas pedal and say we're 'gunning it', can't use it to describe the muscles, or when someone is hesitant to do something or afraid, they can no longer be 'gun shy'.

Get over yourself, people of America.

@The Monkey on my Back, I didn't say " Tool "; I said " Fool", lol. The only way I use the word "Tool" is as in a gadget to fix things. Otherwise, it is not a word I use, haha.

I've been lifting weights for more than 20 years. I have been immersed in the bodybuilding culture, so I know how they dress. I think a lot of them look (and act) foolish, but that's my opinion. :-)

No, I wouldn't buy it for a little one.

Guess it all depends on where you live. I realize there are parts of the country where the culture is different. Where I live, despite strict laws, illegal guns flood our cities. Constant shootings. The cities in my state have massive problems. Hartford was named "the most dangerous city in New England." And our tiny state had Sandy Hook.

And no one in Connecticut will ever get over Sandy Hook. The Hartford Courant just ran a big article about a boy in Hartford who was severely injured in a drive-by shooting. Just another innocent bystander, but he will endure his paralysis for the rest of his life.

Yes, I'll pass on this shirt.
