topic Why do dogs lick my couch? in Community Chat

I have two dogs. The 10 year old will occassionally lick our couch until there is a big wet spot. It is a microfiber upholstered (had to look up that spelling) couch. Now my 1 year old dog is starting to do the same thing. Anyone else have this problem or know why they would do this? It doesn't bother me too much, but if I could get them to stop, I would. Thanks for any responses.
