I love my cats for this reason. We have only had one or two mice in the house in the 22 years we have lived in this rural home near the woods.

I think mice just smell the cats and know to go elsewhere.

Best of luck to catch it fast. I hate mice or any other rodent in the house (unless someone is keeping them contained as a pet).

Buy some mouse traps, spread some peanut butter on the trap and put them where the floor meets the walls. They are nocturnal so you can get them at night.

I, too had that problem 10 years ago. My friend finally convinced me to set out glue traps, yuck..since they are stuck on the alive. I was lucky enough that he was the one who removed them and the traps bless him. He did have a personal vendetta against mice, long story, so he didn't mind too much. To keep them from coming in from the walls stuff coarse steel wool into walls from molding. They don't like to crawl on it. A mouse can squeeze through a opening no bigger than a dime so they come in under wall moldings. Good luck

We had one in the house once, the cat looked at it, threw up and walked away so not only did I have to catch the mouse, I also had to clean up the pile of cat yuck...

We found peanut butter was no good in catching mice. My next door neighbor said to use ground beef on a trap. He was right it worked so well, we caught I won't even tell you how many. Thank goodness for two cats in the house now. Haven't seen a mouse in the house for a few years now.

The mice I've caught in the past just love some crunchy peanut butter, lol. Organic and all natural with no sugar added, no less. Nothing but the best for them, lol! And when they are caught, back outside they go. I've always lived out in the country so they are a fact of life out here. I haven't had them in the house for some years now though.

The glue traps are such a cruel way though and often also catch snakes and other beneficial critters. I've seen mice actually chew off their own limbs in order to escape glue traps. Please if you are going to kill them, make it a quick humane kill.

Peanut butter has worked well in the past -- more than cheese.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever do the sticky traps again. It's cruel and I don't want to deal with a live mouse.

I get them in my storage shed out in the back yard. Got the traps at Home Depot that you can't see them when they're caught. You use cheese or peanut butter where it shows you to and the have a lever you set. When a mouse is caught the lever snaps up to where it says "mouse caught". No slow death like with the sticky boxes. I've been using peanut butter. In fact it's time to go check them. They make such a mess, they must poop every 10 seconds. I have to keep them on hand always, they come in a set of two. Just checked my stash and the brand is called Tomcat.
