I think these are really pretty. Forever stamp, being released August 4th. It's NOT the annual contemporary holiday stamp.

Very appropriate from our perspective. We feed the birds all year round and have all of these plus other birds at our feeders every day. It's great that beautiful birds are acknowledged with a forever stamp.

@lovestopaint- I don't know, but I'm guessing that they do that they can't be printed and counterfeited.

Thank you for keeping us updated on these beautiful stamps as they're being released. I purchased the National Parks series after you posted and they're just lovely. I love anything to do with nature and wildlife. Thanks!

I don't know the reason why "Forever" is crossed out, but I did read that the cost of stamps was reduced from 49 cents to 47 cents!!! The USPS is very upset, but the agency that oversees them said that they don't need that much money.

oooh love this! I need to place a big order- I need to get the trucks, planets, national parks and now these. And a few others but I can't remember. Going to buy them now...

The strike through the word FOREVER is to ensure that the illustration cannot be used as a stamp through technical reproductive means. Any stamps you purchase will not have a strike through the word FOREVER and are honored as postage on all items mailed in the United States."
