Do you close your bedroom door at night?

Do you close your bathroom door when you are using it (or not using it)?

Do you pull all of your shades down or close your drapes at night?

No to all 3 questions. I live on the third floor which is why I leave the blinds open. O f course, I use discretion about my state of dress at night when the lighting makes me easy to see from outside. I don't want to give the neighbors that much to laugh at.

Strange questions, but no, no, and no. I sleep with four dogs. If there's something going on in my house or outside, I want them or me to hear it. My house has a 7 ft cement block wall across the backyard. My bedroom's on the back. I don't worry about peeking toms.

I lived alone, off and on, for about 35 years. I always lived upstairs, so less easy for people to see me moving around in my apt, or see me, period.

I also drank milk and ate ice cream out of the carton.

The cats do not allow closed doors (other than closet doors). I would never shut the bedroom door; that gives me the creeps just thinking about it. Why would I shut the bathroom door if I'm not in the bathroom? Seriously, I don't see the need. I don't even shut the bathroom door when I'm in the bathroom; the cats would have a fit. I can't remember the last time I was in the bathroom without at least three cats in there with me. When I take my shower, there's usually a cat sitting on the edge of the bathtub watching. It's what they do. Nor do I shut the drapes. (We are in the midst of remodeling our bedroom; we don't even have drapes in the bedroom windows yet!)

The last time DH was away, one morning I looked all over the house for my car keys to go to work. I finally found them....in the front door where they were all night long. I came home from work the night before, unlocked the door, and never removed my house keys. Oops. I also had the French door in the dining room opened the night before. I closed it. But never locked it. Oops again.

I never closed my bedroom door (even as kid)...only time is if guest(s) are staying over.

Never close bathroom door unless someone's over.

I do close blinds at night always...we also have 20+ hrs of daylight now, so imperative.

May I ask why you close your bedroom door at night, or your bathroom door when not in use? Seems like it would be the reverse for bthrm door. I know a lot of it determines how things were done at home while growing up.

Take a drive or walk by your place some night, light on, blinds/drapes open and look at it as though a creeper would. Then decide

Yes, No, No! I have to close the bedroom door because my cat (Billy) comes in and jumps on my chest to wake me up! I didn't used to close the door but have to out of necessity!

Yes Yes Yes I read somewhere that it is good living alone or not to close and lock your bedroom door. If there is a break in , it gives you time to get pepper spray out or call 911. So ever since I read that , I close and lock it!

I usually leave the bedroom door open, especially if grandchildren are sleeping over.

I don't close the bathroom door unless I'm in the shower, but it's always closed. Cat is not allowed in the bathrooms.

She will sit like a trained dog at the threshold if I'm in there.

I go around closing doors of rooms all day long to keep cat in or out of certain areas of the house.

No cat in the kitchen--ever!

We have awnings, but I still close drapes closed till midday till the sun gets high. I leave them open all evening, but when we go to bed I close those.

True. In our previous home, the master bedroom was on one end upstairs and so far from vulnerable French doors downstairs that I had deadbolt lock installed on bedroom door. It simply made sense. We also had a metal fire ladder for quick escape. I travelled alone for business for years and alwAys packed a door alarm. A can of wasp spray --aim for face and eyes -- makes good, quick-at-hand protection at home and bedside.
