My heart is breaking for her son and friends, and yes I've met and spoken with Pat... Please keep them all in your thoughts..

Pat Summitt's family is no longer accepting visitors, her Pastor told

@Hallerin.. Stephens said the end is "very imminent."

Yes @MickD, she is.. She is and always will be a legend in women's basketball and at the Un. of Tennessee...

I lost a very dear friend to early onset Dementia and it's horrible. She passed away at the age of 62 after suffering with it from her mid-50's. Devastating... my deepest prayers for her and her family....

She was an amazing coach and wonderful role model for all women. My prayers for her and her family. Terribly sad.

It seems her Alzheimer's progressed very rapidly.

As an aside, my dearest friend, who has Lewy Body dementia ... just woke up recently and could no longer walk ... she's forgotten how.

@Suziepeach Oh how sad for her family and extended U family. I saw an interview with her not long ago...a year or so ago when she decided to retire. What a devastating progressive disease.

She just turned 64 on June 14th and it was announced in 2011 about her Alzheimer's.. it seems it did progress rapidily. She at one time wore some form of GPS and just didn't look right when we'd see her at basketball games. You could tell the disease was taking it's toll, and she'd been moved into a facility back in January.

@Suziepeach - I'm so sad for you. She is an amazing, trailblazing woman. What she did with her "girls" she did with power and grace. She pushed them to greatness. Her son is continuing her legacy.

Our prayers are with her and her family. It's heart breaking because she is so young, but it does show that it happens to anyone at anytime.

She was/is an awesome coach, friend, mentor and woman. She loved her "job" and every single girl she ever coached. I believe they felt/feel the same. That is a sign of a great person.

Pat Summitt Plaza on campus.. I'll toot my horn and say my hubby and I had a little do with that and our names are on plaque, with others of course, down to the right..

@Preds @Suziepeach ... many of her former players managed to see her this past weekend before the family stopped visitors. It was so heart- wrenching

We've been keeping up with everything, or trying too, via tweets and Tennessee websites. Candace Parker had finished a game and immediately flew to Knoxville. So sad, so sad.

I am one of many of Pat's Chi Omega sorority sisters praying for her and her family. She has always been a wonderful example of our "Symphony".
