How Would You Spend The QVC 30K Grand Prize?

Hello all. With so much awful news surrounding us, I thought we might lighten things up a bit here and engage in some fantasy spending! Specifically, what would you do if you won the QVC Sweepstakes $30,000 grand prize?

First, I'd hope I was sitting or laying down when I found out because I would probably faint!

QVC would be happy to hear that I'd be paying off all of my Easy Pays; yep, I'm one of those people. Of course ~~a whole lot~~ some of the money would be spent here on items on my QVC wish list. However, as far as a major purchase, I would be in the market for a "gently" used car since I'm currently carless.

So, let's dish . . . . . How would you spend it?

Of course, this is really just a fantasy for all of you since I plan on being the grand prize winner!

First I would pay the taxes on the money, Second put it in savings.

I would use it to help me buy a new car. My car is very old and died yesterday. I don't know how much the repairs will cost yet, but last year had big repairs done. I'd rather have a new car but can't really afford it.

taxes, move to a newer home or update present home. travel w/DH. Of course, I would make an offering to 1 of the charities I support now.

First...pay the taxes on it. Second...take a little vacation. Third...put the bulk of it into our retirement fund.

I am laid off so I would keep it in my savings account for security in case I can't find work. I probably would treat myself to a small trip within reason.

Considering QVC probably makes $30,000 every 30 seconds, I think it's a yawn of a sweepstakes. After taxes, you'd be lucky to get 20K. I'd put some aside for my annual vacation to the Carribean, and use the rest to help trade up my car, which is only 4 years old, but aside from investing or saving it, there's not really much you can do with that little bit of money.
