David and colors

I really like David and I always laugh when he seems to obsess over product colors. It got me to thinking, wouldn't it be great to see him present those Denim and Company pants that come in like a thousand shades.? I think he would be in his element. LOL.

Whenever David has a product with lots of colors...or designs...(temptations) I immediately change the station...he does overkill telling us about them....way too often...he is the only host that does that....so i know he is not getting "feed" from a producer or all the hosts would have to do the same....and they don't....

You're right - he really overdoes the colors. Like it's the main selling point. Or that women care more about aesthetics than anything substantial. But it kills airtime so maybe that's all it is for him.

I think he does what he does because he knows his audience really well. He knows what sells and caters to those points when he's working. That's one reason he's so successful.

I never thought of him as obsessive about the colors, just knowledgeable about what would be likely to sell out sooner rather than later. That's helpful to those who are fence sitters.

@QVCkitty1 Absolutely! Since he seems to be obsessed with colors, perhaps David could pre-record the COLORS for all QVC products with TONS of color options.....and the host doing that show could say---"and here's David with the colors".....no more hosts fumbling and bumbling with their cards trying to figure out what they decided to call that color....LOL!!! (this is all tongue and cheek folks)....

Did you all notice how he has to do the double tap on them as he names them? lol, I sometimes stick with whatever it is that comes in multiple colors that he's selling just to see if he does that. He's one of my favorites as far as being a real gentleman goes.

At least he tends to know his colors. Some of those other hosts are like, "This is brown...no chocolate...no...what are are we calling this one?" ☺️

Just more of the stale presentations. Other people filling in - in the kitchen - just rattle the colors off and no double finger taps. I change the channel when I see colors coming.

Some guy wrote a book on behind he scenes at QVC said that when David does colors the phone lines (in other words for orders placed) light up.

I don't think he's obsessed with colors at all. I think there's a producer yammering in his ear to do the colors. Every presentation at QVC now gives the colors at least twice.

Now if we could just get them to do the measurements on clothes.

Does brown even still exist? lol It's chocolate or coffee or mocha. Yellow is not yellow--it's mustard or lemon or daffodil, orange is tangerine or spice, never orange!

@Ladybug724 There's a method to this maddness. Every clothing color has to have its own name because it will be an exact match with other garments with the exact same name. Lapis blue will always be the same whether it's in a shirt or pants in case you want to look like a monochromatic little elf. I go nut with aqua and turquoise shades as they have so many, and trying to figure if it's a blue turquoise or a green turquoise.
