Any updates on Phillip Watson?

Finally home and surprised to be alive. I was in the hospital for nine days and got my new aortic valve and a stent. I lost a lot of blood during the process and stabilized just as they were preparing a transfusion. My blood pressure was extremely low, and my heart beat was erratic. I am still very weak. Thanks to all of you for the kind, loving messages which I look forward to reading once I gain some strength. I was so sure I was going to die that I cried. It was just the worst. My sister and best buddy, Wayne Gootee, were by by side throughout it and provided lifesaving guidance as my advocates. God bless all of you.

Wow, how terrifying. I'm so glad it turned out well and hope he continues to get stronger.

Amazing how our outward appearance can be so deceiving when it come to the heart. I say that because he looked so fit and healthy, and I'm sure he still is.

But you cannot ignore your heart. In more ways than one!

Phillip is the nicest person....I am sorry he has heart problems...glad that he is on the mend...How terribly scary that must have been...

I Pray he will continue to heal and be his old self once again...

@sunshine45 I had no idea Philip was ill, so thank you for posting, and am so glad he is on the mend. Whenever I deal with my Cottage Farms plants, I think of him.

Phillip Watson is the QVC Sales Rep for Cottage Farms.

This is the first I have read about his health issues. Amazing the advances in medical science. I did not even know they could put in an artificial aortic valve now. I will keep Philip in my thoughts as he continues to recover. Thanks for posting this information here. Would appreciate reading any updates he may post.

Thanks for the update. I have been wondering, too. Sounds like he has been through a lot. Hopefully, life can get back to normal for him soon and we will see his smiling face again in the near future. I would rather imagine, surrounded with all that beauty, would be healing in and of itself.

After reading Philip's post about getting a transfusion, I just want to remind the folks who can donate blood, platelets, etc. to sign up every 58 days.

Every blood donation can three lives. It doesn't take much time and you get free refreshments afterwards so you don't faint !

I was always a scaredy cat of needles, but I got to being grateful and wanted to give more than cash: Blood.

I am now over 4 gallons and wish I had started much earlier than I did.

Please consider donation....there just isn't " synthetic " blood. The real thing counts here.scaredy

My father had his aortic valve replaced 45 years ago so it is not a new procedure.

I am so glad to hear Philip is recuperating and doing well. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery. Like others have stated I'm surprised about his health crisis, for years IIve enjoyed watching and taping his shows. I have many of his plants and flowers.

Still so very weak and sleeping most of the time. Anemia has made me unsure of my footing, but I am hoping to turn the corner, soon. I love all of you for the beautiful greetings and special prayers. I have never been in such a state before, and it is frightening. It looks like I have a few months of this ahead of me. God bless you all. My garden continues to lift my spirits, and I am heading out to a chair right now to say my prayers.

I am so grateful to be alive. I was so close to the other. After fifteen days in the hospital, I am finally home and am enjoying seeing my garden and hearing the birds and seeing the sun. Your prayers, well wishes, cards, and concerned comments really help me at this time. I am far from being my old self, but I am no longer filled with despondency. Dear Philip,

I just learned about your very scary and sad health problems a few minutes ago when Carolyn Gracie mentioned it on her cooking show. I couldn't be more sorry about what you've been going through. I watch as many of your shows as I am able to, largely because of YOU!!! You are sweet, kind, hilarious and just a special person. I just love hearing you speak about your grandmother. I was very close to my grandparents as well so I can totally relate to your feelings. I agree with everyone else who commented that you are the picture of health which made this more of a shock. I'm glad you are in the constant care of two special people. I, too, live alone and sometimes we do need the help of others. I have no doubt that your friend Hazel is checking in on you as well! Not surprisingly, your garden is magnificent. For some reason when I have blogged on QVC in the past I neglect to send a heart, but please know that I am sending you many many hearts and will be including you in my prayers. I will continue to look for updates from you when you are up to sending them. Wishing a speedy and complete recovery to someone I am genuinely fond of!!!!
