Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Much time is spent fearing that which isn't really there in the first place.
Lord, help me conquer my fears and overcome my difficulties as they
happen rather than giving up and letting my difficulties overcome me.
Scripture for the day:

"Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes
refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, until the
destroying storms pass by." ~Psalm 57:1

Meditation for the day:

"My soul is restless until it finds its rest in Thee." A river flows
on, until it loses itself in the sea. Our spirits long for rest in
the Spirit of God. We can yearn to realize a peace, a rest, a
satisfaction that we have never found in the world or its pursuits.
Some of us are not conscious of our need, and can shut the doors
of our spirits against the Spirit of God. That makes it difficult for
us to find true peace.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may feel the divine unrest. I pray that my soul may
find its rest in God.

Hello my good and faithful friends! It was a nice, sunny day today - a great
blessing to see that, warmth finally here! More blessings with visiting my
long, lost friend, Dani, again. She is home from the hospital now but on
oxygen. She was in ICU for pneumonia. I've known her before my list
already, about 13 years. Then she was without computer for awhile and we
lost touch now I have my friend back again. Carba, I'm so glad you came
back - and you do have our prayer and support here - all of us! I praise
God your tears are tears of joy! Juanita, prayers for On the bay and
Michael. I so hope Onthebay comes back here again - she is missed along with
so many other wonderful people. Praying for all of your intentions,
placing them all in the Hands of God, and thanks a million for your prayers for us.

20 Dollar Bill

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In
the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started
going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first let
me do this."

He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants
it?" Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and
started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all
crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the
air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I
did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt
by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as
though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose
your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!

Let us pray:
Lord, you know everything about us. Why then do we fear you won't be there
when we need you?

Lord, reveal to our hearts today the depths of your love for us. Help us to
trust in your promise and your love so we may be free to learn to step out
in faith when you call us to. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Presence of God

With all of creation,
I am immersed in God.
I allow myself to let go of the past and the future,
To leave all my concerns in God's hands,
And to simply be with God,
Here and now.

HUMAN LIFE AS A SPIDER WEB

The other day I read of human life described as a spider web:

'If you touch it anywhere, you set the whole thing trembling - The life that
I touch for good or ill will touch another life, and that in turn another,
until who knows where the trembling stops or in what far place and time my
touch will be felt. Our lives are linked. No man, no woman, is an island.'

The gift of friendship with others is contagious.

A PRAYER WHEN YOU FEEL WORRIED AND UNCERTAIN

O Lord, each of us has fears that betray; worries that capture and shake
out our joy. We find ourselves in limbo because we are neither here nor
there. We are in a time of transition, of getting ready. Change and
chance surround us. Help us, O Lord, to return to your presence. Cause
us to find the point and purpose of each day. All we ask is that you keep
us on our feet so that we might walk with you. Bless us this night and
grant us rest. Amen.

May you always find many blessings in your day to day ordinary life! God
