Funny Thing Happened at Work

LOL This man is lucky I am not a prude. I was at work and due to the nature of what I do, I often find myself looking at people's cell phones to get needed information. I told this eldery man if he could please "enlarge it" (the screen) so I could take a look at something. I could have said "zoom in" but I just happened not to this time around and he said "I've heard that before". LOL I started laughing and so did his wife and what appeared to be his son. How would you have reacted? I'd like to hear something funny that happened in your week.

I would have laughed!

I was having a medical procedure done last week when, mid exam, a nurse knocked then walked in to retrieve something from the room. The nurse who was taking my blood pressure said, C'mon in, we're decent. I immediately replied, Well, we're not decent, but we're dressed! We all cracked up. Humor is a great icebreaker.

I would have laughed too. Reminds me of the "that's what she said" running gag on the Office. How I miss that show.

A sense of humor is everything!

It wasn't at work, but this morning I was shopping at Target and a little old man said "excuse me, Miss" and pointed at my shoes. I looked down and a big old price tag was stuck to my shoe.

I said "Oh great. I'm only worth $34.99 now". He cracked up and a lady an aisle over from us laughed out loud too.

I work with 98 men and two women. We have to have a wicked humor to get thru the day. The men are always nice ... that's what "allows" us to mess with them. LOL

Yes, we all take training yearly to NOT do this, but ... doesn't take.

This was not this week, actually it was probably 40 years ago, but as I told this story yesterday on another thread, I decided to add it here too. Here you go:

I have a story about kids and quicksand, lol. When we lived in Wi. I drove a school bus for a few years when my girls were very young and the hours worked for us at the time. I had a morning and afternoon route each day. Sometimes subbed for kindergarten routes also as well as field trips to Chicago, Milwaukee and other places. One day while subbing a kindergarten route, I made my pick up stop at the really muddy "bus stop". About 10-12 little kids got on the bus, one kid stayed behind, crying his head off. I asked what the deal was with that kid, one of the others said, "oh, he thinks he's stuck in quicksand". Gee, wonder why he would think that, lol. So, no parents around, bunch of little kids on a bus, what to do? Couldn't leave him stuck bawling his head off, so I went through the whole "process" required to leave kids on the bus (flashers, emergency brake on, motor off, key out of ignition, etc), got out and pulled him, screaming, out of the mud, had to pull his boots out as he lost them when I pulled him out. He and I covered in mud, pretty much head to toe, lol. Took him to school and let them deal with a mud covered kid. Finished my route, went home and spent time in the shower. Not the most fun, but it made for a funny story at the bus barn. I was giggling my head off through the rest of that route, Crazy, crazy kids had him scared to death! lol Made the mud/sucky sound when he came up outta there. Haha

Remember now that this was long, long ago when parents didn't have to stand at the bus stop with their kids for fear they would be kidnapped or worse, just that maybe they would convince another gullible child that they were sinking in quicksand.

A few years ago, I was taking a college class required for writing skills. We had some required reading which included numerous short stories & essays. One short story was Flannery O'Connor's "A Good Man is Hard to Find." In discussing this story in class, I got the title mixed up (A H*** Man is Good to Find"). The prof's lips twitched a bit as she tried to keep from laughing aloud, & the whole class broke out into raucous laughter. One of the men in the class asked me what I had on my mind. blush...
