Anyone Buying The TSV?

Not me....I think I'll save my $300 and buy the Dyson $400 hair dryer......on second thought, maybe I should save myself $100 and just stand in front of the fan to dry my hair!! Does anyone else think these prices are outrageous....or is it just me trying to live on my retirement income......

LOL! I'd never spend $300 on a Dyson vacuum, let alone a fan. My ceiling fans work just fine.

I bought a QVC Dyson about 5 years ago for $400 +

Previously, I went through 3 or four Sharks in 4 years. (Each worked really well, but only for about a year.) Dyson is still working really well and I am glad I bought it. I have two rescue cats, one of whom sheds half-a-sweater a day. The cat fur clogged and blew up the Shark. The Dyson can handle it.

I am very glad I bought it, though paying that much almost gave me a heart attack at the time. (Easy pay helped.)

I have a cheap fan from Costco that works well, so I am all set at $29

But the Dyson vac really did make my life a lot easier. The Shark drove me crazy. Good cleaner until just before I had guests coming. Then the motor would seize up and quit.

Been there done that. Had a Dyson many years ago. Back it went back after one month. Too heavy and did not pick up all the hair, like they said. Way too expensive also.

I have a Shark and love it, never had a problem with mine. The fan they have on today is not worth the money at all. To each his own.

I have a Shark Rocket, the pet version. I love that thing & actually enjoy vacuuming, which is something I never thought I'd hear myself say.

No, it's not just you! These prices for home/ kitchen or beauty appliance are outrageous! I don't watch it for hours on end as I used to. None of the channels. And truly,, I'm not missing it and saving money too! There was some new facial apparatus n as I was channel surfing. It was some kind of fancy manual shaver/exfoloator that was $199.99!!! Well, sorry fancy celebrity esthetician....I've been doing it every week for years with an eye brow hinting tool. Does the same thing! I worked for a dermatologist for years as his surgical nurse. He would tell women to do it who were getting addicted to very expensive procedures. No need to waste money with just the basics are so very expensive!!!

Awww, c'mon, don't y'all want to get at least one of the TSVs and one of the Dyson hairdryers for your gift closet? They'd be perfect gifts for the UPS man, the garbage man or perhaps the school crossing guard come Christmas time. Heck buy more than one!

OK, so this is not a good value for you. And your point?

Obviously, some people are clerly willig to spend their money on this product for whatever reason. As it does not impact you, how is it any of your business.

I am sure that many of those criticiing he cost of the Dyson spend money on products that the rest of us would find frivilous, silly, or a waste. If you are going to begin judging how others spend their money, then be prepared for similar criticism and mockery.

I'd consider the fan, but never the hair dryer. I do have a decent fan (no ceiling fans in my apartment and no A/C in most of it), but that fan is heavy and awkward to move. Also because my space qualifies as not just a tiny apartment, but as an extremely tiny one, anything without blades whirring is a good idea.

At first I thought everyone was joking about a Dyson hair dryer and then I googled it. It's real! $399 seems like an awful lot to me for a hair dryer, but, I haven't tried a $400 hair dryer. Maybe it performs miracles, lol.

I haven't considered the fan, it's just not something that I would risk buying from a shopping channel. If I wanted, or thought I wanted, one, I would go to a local store and see it in action. And then I would probably buy there if I liked it. Don't need one so I'm saving my time and money.

I had an extremely bad experience with Dyson. I bought an Animal Vac and spent over $500 on it. Worked really well until the warranty was up and then it started making the most horrendous noise and stopped picking up. Since the warranty was up, the Company could NOT do anything! So I took it to our local Sewing and Vacuum repair guy where I used to live and who was excellent btw as I had used him before for an Oreck I owned and an antique (1920's) Singer sewing machine (he overhauled and works like a champ!)

He said it was the "clutch" and the repair would be $170. I already had over $500 into it so I went ahead with the repair. He also took me to the back of his repair shop to show me all the Dysons he had waiting for repair.... an incredible amount of them, far more than any other brand.... and that's when he said that he'd be happy to repair it for me, that he would have to use a Dyson replacement part... and he didn't think very much of the brand!

I went ahead and had the work done and it worked well for about 6 months and it started DOING IT AGAIN! Took it back to him and he said it was the Dyson part, the clutc h going out again!

I called Dyson once more and it was too bad, so sad but too much time had gone by.... nothing they could do.

I was SO FURIOUS at this total waste of money that I threw the thing in the garbage! And I will NOT buy anything made by this company again.....

I've had a Shark for years now and it works as well as the day I purchased it.....

Don't be too quick to ridicule that fan. It's the best fan I ever had. Right now it's sitting on my bedside table right at my ear, and it's the only fan I've had that doesn't interfere with my hearing the TV. It's not as drafty as most fans and seems to disperse the air better. I've had it a couple of years and love it. Mine also heats in the winter.

I purchased my second fan today. Last year purchased one when it was a TSV and really like it. Does a good job keeping the air circulating even with a/c. Really like the fact there are no blades and the entire unit can be wiped down with a wet cloth. When the speed is on a low number it does not make a lot of noise and interfere with radio or TV. Yes, it's expensive but worth it for me for reasons stated.
