If You Could Make Q World Perfect For You

how long do you think it would take before you wanted to make a change?

It seems that there are more than a few posters that persistently complain about the way the boards are run, how the boards are set up, forum topics or lack of topics, the hosts, the vendors, the products, Q retail, the world.

If you could tailor Q.com and Q community to your personal taste how long before you wanted to change it again and how many others would accept your idea of perfection? Would you end up with a company/board of one?

Neither Q nor the boards nor the board participants are going to recreate themselves to one individual's personal taste, sensibilities or preferences.

When dealing with hundreds or thousands of diverse personalities one person or group does not get to decide how things are run and sometimes the "squeaky wheel" simply gets replaced.

I don't need the Q World to be perfect for me. I like coming here to read and post. I was glad when they started removing insulting posts about hosts and vendors, but I can't think of anything else that I would change to make it perfect for me. It is just a way to pass time, and I don't get so worked up over what goes on here.

Some people seem to take this board very seriously, it's big part of their lives. I suspect there are people who use this board as a substitute for having a real and real connections so they give it an importance it really doesen't deserve. I wouldn't change the board in any way. It is what is and like it or not the people who post define a board. There are forums I've never visited because Recipes and Gardening and such don't interest me. I'm happy with it the way it is and when I'm not happy with what goes on here.....I'll stop coming here.

I believe it would be useful to be able to create a poll with options for response to some topics. That way we would be provided with a snap shot of opinions. I don't think it would be difficult for webbie to do this. What say?

Why? The whole point of board like this is to discus things. To connect with others. I don't think anyone wants or needs some "snap shot" showing opinions...lol I'm pretty sure something like that is impossible to do anyway. But it's funny to think about.....let me check the opinions to see how I feel about that Dooney bag...lol

I agree with @chrystaltree and @wilma. While we all have preferences, likes and dislikes, in the general scheme of things this is just passing entertainment for me, not my life. The community ebbs and flows - some days I enjoy the various discussions quite a bit, other days not so much, but that's how things are in *real* life as well. I'm fine with the ups and downs.

The only thing I might change is a wish for the moderators to ban *genuine* trolls who post genuinely trollish posts. OTOH, they do provide a certain level of entertainment :-(

I didn't really participate much in the previous forum (which wasn't as closely monitored) due to all the bashing of hosts, vendors and posters. So even though sometimes this new forum seems over-monitored I'm happier coming here and posting now.

My ever present wish would be for an Ignore button. Some days, not most, I also wish for a Down Arrow option, but fully understand what an uproar that would create.

I rarely watch live QVC so I come here and to QVC online basically to get information. I feel sharing about products and or researching products helps me make good decisions. Brick and mortar stores are not for me anymore. I would rather shop online for everything but food and large appliances.

I don't know that a Down Arrow would add substance, but it would at least be a counterpoint to hearts, and it would be nice to have that balance. After all, if we are able with a click to give a heart, why not be able to indicate dislike or disagreement with a click as well?

The commentary within the thread wouldn't change much - those who customarily comment would still comment, either way. But for those who do not want to "enter the fray" they could still register their feelings by the down arrow just as others can and do with the hearts.

And it *might* mean LESS negative reaction comments in a thread, which would be helpful from the moderators' POV.

Just the ignore button, although frankly that seems less needed than it used to.

I clicked on the thread, however, because I thought it was going to be about presentations on air. My wish for that is for all the pertinent information to be presented before personal stories were shared. By pertinent, I mean measurements including length, fabric, fit, and placing the similar colors together so we could see how they differ.

When I shop in actual stores, I also like to take a fistful of fabric in my hand and squeeze to see how much resistance to wrinkling it has. Sometimes it's acceptable, such as 100% cotton or linen, but other times it's not. Perhaps some hosts could add this to clothing presentations. (Wishful thinking.)

Oh, yeah!

The only change I'd like is the return of the Ignore Button.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy the way it is, and I think the Mods do a good job. I don't always agree with every one of them, but they're doing their job.
