WHAT'S YOUR TRAFFIC RANT?

Whether you live in an urban or rural area, or anything in between, there's always that driver who annoys us. So, give me your RANT about that person .......

Mine:

Yesterday I was stopped at a red light and another car pulled up in the next lane. His windows were open and his radio was up so loud that the audio actually made my car vibrate ... even with my windows closed it was awful! Why can't people who want their music at full blast close their darn windows? Why do we have to be subjected to their poor taste in music? Aaaagh!

So ..... who annoys you?

People who are so busy diddling with their cell phones, they can't be bothered to drive. I cannot tell you how many times I've sat behind someone stopped at a light that turns green and they just sit there texting. Same at stop signs. I've been behind people who all of a sudden look up and realize they need to turn and cut over, almost ramming into me.

Last week, I was leaving work and someone was at a complete stop on the road out of our campus. I sat for a few seconds and realized, her head was down, like she was on her phone. So I drove around her and as I passed, she looked up, smiled, and looked back down to her phone. A few days later, the very same thing happened with that very same woman!!! That day there were 3 of us that had to go around her.

"PEOPLE TALKING ON THEIR CELL PHONES!" Don't understand why people have to be to connected!!! Can't they wait until they aren't in their cars!!!! 😱

Aggressive drivers- zipping around in traffic and also those that jump the light at an intersection. People need slow down in all aspects fo life- leave enough time to get to wherever SAFELY!!

I'm extremely cautious when driving - I was taught most important with driving is watching out for the other guy/girl. And I do!!

Besides the obvious about cell phones, I hate when people drive too close behind me. That just annoys me.

Does anybody look anymore before backing out of a parking spot? It's ridiculous...

People honking when they don't even know what is going on.

Today I came up behind a car on a two lane road which was stopped. The driver behind me started going nuts on the horn.

Finally, I see two geese moving slowly (as geese in the street will) emerge and cross into the grass.

I would have stopped too.

People need to get a grip.

Tailgaters in left lanes who you let by (by going into middle lane) and then watching as they tailgate another person in the left lane!

I'm amazed that people aren't ticketed when they have one hand (or none!) on the wheel- my state (NJ) has such a push on stopping people. But I still see it all the time!

Between work and stuff at home, there aren't enough hours in the day. I talk often in the car, but it's through my bluetooth in my radio. Amazing technology! Before that, I used 'old school' earbuds - it's like I'm talking to a person in the passenger seat. Both hands are always on the steering wheel.

If anyone is available to please teach a large group of Georgia drivers that a four way stop means four way stop (Yes even if you are making a right turn you still have to STOP first and let the other car that was stopped there first go ahead of you), this transplant would greatly appreciate it and so would my blood pressure. I swear I hate the people that got their licenses at Pep Boys.

I agree about all the usual major annoyances. I'm not out and about nearly as much as I always was before, but one that just bugs me big time is when people can't just stay in their lane.

What I mean is that when the road kind of bends around and back (not a 90 degree turn, but just like an 's-bend') and they cut over in the bike or pedestrian lane on the right, or the other lane or turning lane on the left.

Where did these people learn to drive? Once I asked somebody I knew who did this and was told that it was too bendy to stay in the lane. Hey bonehead - that means you are going too fast for the area. Slow down just a tad and drive IN the lane like somebody who knows how to drive.

Drivers who won't let you merge on the freeway. There are several freeway entrances in my area that have very short merge lanes and you really need other drivers to let you in! I always use my signal.

Sometimes I say to myself, oh,you forgot to uncloak the car today, because apparently you are invisible to other drivers.

Any person not following the general safety rules and laws of the road thus causing the rest of us who do follow them to be put in an unsafe and hazardous environment.

Oh, that's a good one! I'm basically a rule-follower and it seems like those of us who are, are the ones at peril for all those who think that the rules don't apply to them.

That always happens to me, also- I just let me zip by becasue I wouldn't want them behind my car anyway! The last thing I want is an aggressive driver trailing me.

I lived my whole life in the suburbs of Detroit and just last June we retired in a rural community Up North. It's wonderful! Absolutely no annoying traffic! But whenever we travel downstate the drivers become more and more terrible! It hasn't even been a year since we moved and we really despise going to the Detroit area anymore.
