Another Facebook Question

When "friends of friends" are allowed does anyone know how many generations of "friends of friends" are allowed access?

For example, if friend A has 10 friends (generation 1 = 10 friends of friends) and each and those friends have 20 friends (generation 2 = 200 friends of friends) and each of those friends have X number of friends (generation 3) how far does my original friends of friends permission go?

Facebook defines it like this:

Friends of Friends: This audience includes all of your friends and any friends that they have. (source: https://www.facebook.com/help/211513702214269)

To me, that reads as just the friends of your original friend, no more.

Not really sure what you're asking. I thought you could only add a friend one at a time. I could be wrong. The one think I dislike about FB is those "friends" they are always trying to get me to add. I have no idea who they are but their faces are always at the top of my FB page.

You can set your posts to eliminate friends of friends from viewing them. You can also set particular posts so that they can't be viewed by certain friends.

Good grief, I have had a Facebook acct. for many years now, and have never really had any problems, you can make it as private or as open as you want, it all depends on your settings, and IMO, they are very easy to read, I just don't understand all the questions!!!

I have not had any problems and I do have the tightest security and privacy settings possible. The only thing friends of friends can do is send friend requests.

The OP was a mostly a matter of curiosity as I did not find FB's statement, as cited by ChynnaBlue, definitive.

Private settings are not that private. One of your so-called friends can copy what you write, and show it to everyone.

I'm not able to copy someone's post and send it to someone else. There have been times that I've tried because I know it would be interesting to someone I know. It won't let me copy it. I'm not talking about something that was important and private. It's just pictures of dogs that I've tried to copy and send to someone.

I would assume fhat my friend Joe's friends can see my posts. But not Joe's friends friends. So Mary, who is friends with Joe, can see my posts. But Sally who is friends with Mary cannot.
