Another Mess Created By Annabelle!

I didn't know where to post this! First of all something like this isn't unusual for me. I'm sooooo frustrated (at myself).

I should start a post titled MESS...Annabelle...Vents.

Anyway, feel free to offer suggestions on cleaning it up!

OK, so I never cook anymore. It's just me and the cats and I usually eat out. However, I finally got around to ordering my beloved Spatini Spaghetti Sauce from the intenet and was excited to make my special (?) sauce.

Let me set the stage......I'm in the kitchen (the stove is covered with junk) cleaned it off...pots and pans out. I'm a cookin' up a storm, water boiling, sauce made...yelling at Bill the cat for walking between my legs (in the kitchen)....

I finally put the noodles on the plate along with the sauce (really piled it on), could taste it before I tasted it.....YUM!......

I walked into the TV room, plate in hand, water in hand...(don't get ahead of me here)......

I'd had the heater on and it was hot as you know what in there.....(keep reading....).....

I bent down to turn off the heater and......OK, now you can get ahead of me.....

EVERY FREAKING NOODLE (sauce and all) SLID DOWN THE PLATE and on the light beige rug!!!

I try to find the sunny side of this..... OK, at least it didn't land on the radiant hot heater...right?

So, I just finished the spaghetti (good-bye spaghetti for tomorrow).......

I have really bad knees so this isn't going to be fun...but as goes life....

I looked over at Billy the cat and his expression said, "Don't blame me this time".....

I said, "I can't blame you Bill. I did it I own it!" He threw his tail up in the air and I swear I think he was thinking...."Now You've done it".....

When my girls were growing up and we'd go into an antique store they'd turn to me and say, "Be careful mom". Ha!

Phew! I've vented and I feel better. I'm waiting for the spaghetti to settle in my stomach and thank goodness for the QVC (or was it HSN?) Spot Bot still in the box.......

I hope I didn't bore you guys, but I had to tell someone.....

Oh, @Annabellethecat66, you are so easy to love! Sorry about your mishap, but it did give me a good belly laugh! You're lucky you have a cat, my puppy would have snarfed the pile on the floor up in no time!

Hahahaha ... I'm sorry @Annabellethecat66, but I've done the same dang thing and I still blamed it on my dog. He didn't like it and knew I was fibbing. LOL I just cleaned up what was left ... after he ate most of it ... and continued on my merry way. Dog was happy because he got extra food. Me? Not so much!

I agree with Maggie, you are easy to love Annabelle.

I hope you manage to get the sauce stain out, but I know how light colored carpet can be. Too bad it wasn't Alfredo!

It's good you were looking to find the bright side. I'm glad you didn't trip and fall. It could have been so much worse. Easy for me to say with no carpet to clean! Anyway, I'm glad you and Billy are okay.

@MaggieMack is right, it pays to have a dog rather than picky cats. Whenever I make a mess like that, even in the car, I just select the "pet of the day" and let her clean it up. The problem I see in your case is that the dye they use in spaghetti sauce is forever. I got some on a plastic table cloth once and although I washed it many times, that stain didn't budge.

Oh Sweetie, we've all had something like that or a similar mess! We also have off white carpet and spagetti acts like it's on roller skates!

It was only after our teenage son did the very same thing that now I carry only one plate at a time.

Now's the time to have the carpet cleaned and scotchguarded!

@Annabellethecat66 I don't know you very well, but you made my day. OH, that didn't sound good; I should explain. I've done the same type of thing and it's SOOOOO hard to clean up things like that with bad knees/back, etc. It just made me feel better to know that these things happen to others, too.

@MaggieMack You mean he would have eaten it? If so, that would at least be less noodles to pick up.

At least I got up the noodles and threw tons of those little micro things QVC sells.

Spaghetti makes one feel so full anyway.

We used to have a very ornate (French style) table. We had glass made to cover the top (to protect the wood). We had to get it at a special place because not many glass places could cut it according to the table.

Not once, but 2 times I broke that glass! It took a month to get it made each time. After breaking it the second time, I told my husband, "Forget it, no more glass".

That's just one of the dufuss (long u) meaning dumb, things I've done over the years!

I have almost done something like the spaghetti more than once, but usually catch it.

Then there's the time I decided to clear out the old refrigerator (it was after a fire and we were getting rid of the refrigerator.

I decided to bring the huge trash can (the one the trash guy empties out) up the stairs into the kitchen. I filled up the thing as it had not been used and all of the food was bad.

Do you know where I'm going here? I tried to push it down the stairs to outside.......it flipped over and over into the foyer. Everything emptied out!

It seemed like a good idea at the time!

Forgot to say. The trash can scratched the light wooden foyer and I had to have it sanded and refinished!

Hummmm???

I think that same kind of thing happens to us all, we just don't admit it that often!

Spot Shot should get the stain out of the carpet if you don't have any luck with what you have on hand. It will take some time, and I always use a clean white cotton cloth to scrub/blot it up (old white Tshirts or underwear are the best).

Now I'm hungry for spaghetti!

@Annabellethecat66, my DH had special glass cut for every table in our house. Once, he moved a table. It was Easter, I was cooking dinner running around like a chick with my head cut off. Of course, I ran smack dab into the table he moved. Didn't puncture my Levis, which I had just changed into from my dress, but DH insisted on looking. I said no! He insisted. Looked. Said, "you're going to emergency." I reluctantly went. Doc said it was to the bone. 28 stitches later, I went home. Since DH is no longer here, neither are his glass-topped tables!

@Annabellethecat66, I have done that exact same thing, but unfortunately most of it landed on the sofa!

And we used to have a coffee table with glass inserts. I can't tell you how many times we broke that glass. Finally got rid of the thing and went with solid wood!
